Staff Selection Commission conducts Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination to recruit graduate candidates to fill various posts like Assistants, Inspectors, Auditors, etc. under different government ministries, departments, and organizations. 

To fill up these posts, the Commission has released the tentative list of SSC CGL vacancies 2018 – 19. SSC usually determines the number of vacancies one month before the declaration of the final result.

  • The authority decided the list of vacancies Department-wise, Post-wise, and Category-wise.

SSC CGL 2019 Selection Process

Candidates must go through the selections procedure before online application. The selection procedure for SSC CGL is given below. 

  • Candidates have to qualify Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 separately for final selection. The Commission releases cutoff marks for each round. SSC will recommend the selected candidates for appointment of each category according to the merit list.
  • The merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in all the rounds. A separate merit list will be announced for all the posts. Candidates are advised to fill their preferences in the application form carefully. The preference once exercised by the candidate will be treated as final.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, PWD, etc. are selected on their own merit without relaxation of standards. They will not be adjusted against the reservation of vacancies. 
  • The Ex-Serviceman/ PWD candidates who qualify the examination on the basis of relaxed standards are to be counted against reserved vacancies subject to fitness of such candidate for selection.

NATIONALITY/CITIZENSHIP:

A candidate must be either:

  • a citizen of India
  • a citizen of Nepal
  • a citizen of Bhutan
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AS ON AUGUST 1,2019:

i) Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer:

 a) Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or Institute

 b) Desirable Qualifications: Chartered Accountant or cost & Management Accountant or Company Secretary or Masters I Commerce or Masters in Business Studies or Masters in Business Administration (Finance) or Masters in Business Economics.

 ii) Junior Statistical Officer:

Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level OR Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects at degree level.

 iii) All other Posts:

 Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University or equivalent. iii) The candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation can also apply, however they must possess Essential qualification on or before August 1, 2019.
