SSC CGL Cut off list for Tier II exam will be released in December, 2017. SSC CGL Tier I cut off was released on November 8, 2016. SSC CGL is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to appoint eligible candidates for various government posts. SSC CGL 2016 consists of 4 phases- Tier I, Tier II, Tier III and Tier IV. Tier I exam was conducted from August 27, 2016 to September 11, 2016.

Results for tier I have been declared, candidates whose names have appeared on the list shall sit for Tier II exam which is scheduled to be conducted from November 30, 2016 to December 3, 2016.

Candidates can appear for Paper III and Paper IV of Tier II exam based on the separate cut off list. Candidates must also have required qualifications for the post to be eligible to attempt Paper III and Paper IV.

Factors affecting SSC SGL 2016 Cut Off

There are various factors that determine release of cut off for SSC CGL exam. Primary factors which contribute to the determining of the cut off are level of difficulty of the exam and performance of the candidate.

Following are the determining factors of SSC CGL Cut Off:

  • Exam difficulty level
  • Previous year recruitment statistics
  • Previous year cut off

SSC CGL 2016 Tier III

Tier III exam will be conducted for the first time in SSC CGL exam. Candidates will have to answer a descriptive paper of 100 marks. Tier III exam will be conducted for 60 minutes (80 minutes for Cerebral Palsy and VH candidates) in pen paper mode.

The question will comprise of essay/letter writing in English/Hindi medium. Tier III exam aims at examining the writing skills of the candidate. To appear for Tier III exam, candidate will be assessed on the basis of combined score of Tier I and Tier II exam. The qualifying marks in Tier III will be 33%.

To prepare for Tier III exam, candidate must read newspaper daily. Also, it is important to form an argument on the subject rationally in good grammar. Practicing descriptive papers and getting them evaluated helps the candidates to know about their ability to write.


SSC CGL 2016 Tier IV

It is not compulsory to appear for Tier IV exam for all the candidates. Those who wish to be recruited at the Tax Assistant post or Assistant Section Officer Post must sit for it. The exam is qualifying in nature. Candidate must have data entry skills at the speed of 8000 key depressions per hour.
