January 13, 2021: Uttar Pradesh Teacher's Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021 Notification is likely to be released in the upcoming days of January 2021 and it has been notified that the candidates who have done Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.ED) from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) aren't eligible to apply for the UPTET 2021 Exam.
According to the latest sources, the exam regulatory authority of UPTET has not included the option of those candidates who have completed D.EI.Ed from NIOS in its proposal that was sent to the government. The reason behind this is that the candidates must have mandatorily completed a minimum of 2-years of teaching training course to be eligible to take up the UPTET 2021 exams. While those candidates who have completed D.EI.Ed from NIOS have to undergo correspondence course of 18 months.
Now the candidates who have pursued D.El.Ed from NIOS have expressed their dissatisfaction stating that the decision to be unfair. According to their statements, the trainees of the course are required to mandatorily do the teaching work at schools for a period of 6 months and thus, the course at NIOS is of 18 months.
The candidates have also decided to make a request to the government to not consider the proposal regarding the exclusion of the NIOS D.El.Ed candidates from UPTET 2021 exam. It has also been notified that if the government doesn't consider the request of the candidates then they're expected to take up the matter to the court.
