January 13, 2021: The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the Uttar Pradesh Teachers Entrance Test (UPTET) for recruitment of teachers to the government schools of Uttar Pradesh to teach classes 1st to 8th. As per the statistics, in 2019 approximately 15 Lakh candidates registered for the recruitment exam. 

UPTET exam is conducted in 2 papers. Paper I is held for recruitment of teachers to primary level classes whereas paper II is conducted for recruitment to upper-primary standards. UPTET 2021: Detailed Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Criteria

The candidate who is applying for the post must not be below the age of 18 and not exceed 35 years of age. 

  • Nationality Criteria

The applicant must be a citizen of - India, Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibet.

  • Educational Criteria 

The educational criteria for the UPTET 2021 are divided into two parts i.e. for the paper I and paper II. This is shown in the following table.
 

PAPER-I (PRIMARY CLASS) (Must fulfill any one of the following condition)
Completed graduation in any field from a recognized university or college. After graduation, pursuing a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) is compulsory. Applicants in the final year of DElEd can also apply.
Cleared graduation and after the same, they must have passed the Basic Training Certificate (BTC) for distance education as a Shiksha Mitra. Final year candidates are also eligible to apply.
Completed graduation in any field from a recognized university or college. After graduation, pursuing a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.Ed.) is compulsory. Applicants in the final year of D.Ed. can also apply.
Completed graduation or post-graduation with at least 50 percent marks. Along with this, candidates should also be pursuing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
Cleared graduation or post-graduation with minimum 45 percent marks aggregate. Along with this, candidates must have also completed B.Ed
Cleared their graduation along with BTC in Urdu. Candidates in their final year are also eligible to apply
Candidates who cleared their graduation and also possess a diploma in teaching from Aligarh Muslim University.
Cleared graduation and acquired the degree of Moavill-E-Urdu before August 08, 1997.
Cleared their Class 12 with a minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate. Along with this, candidates should also complete the four-year duration Bachelor of Elementary Education (BElEd).

PAPER-II (UPPER PRIMARY CLASS) (Must fulfill any one of the following condition)
Cleared their graduation from a recognized college or university. Aspirants must have also completed the two-year duration course, DElEd (BTC).
Completed graduation or post-graduation with at least 50 percent aggregate marks. They must have also completed B.Ed/B.Ed Special Education. Candidates studying in the final year of B.Ed/B.Ed Special Education can also apply.
Cleared their Class 12 with scoring at least 50 percent marks. Candidates must have completed their four-year duration course BScEd/ BSc BEd from a well-recognized institution. Applicants studying in the final year of BScEd/BSc B.Ed are also eligible to apply
Applicants should have completed their Class 12 with at least 50 percent marks. They should have also completed a four-year BElEd. Those who are in the final year of B.El.Ed are also eligible to apply.
Cleared graduation with a minimum of 50 percent marks. Moreover, candidates should have also completed his/her one-year duration of B.Ed. Candidates in the final year of B.Ed are also eligible to apply.

About UPTET Eligibility Certificates

UPTET Eligibility certificates are provided to candidates who manage to score 90/150 aggregate or above that in UPTET 2021 exam. The relaxation to reserved category aspirants is given i.e. they have to score at least 82/150 marks in the exam. These certificates hold a validity of 5 years.
