January 16, 2021: University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of National Eligibility Test (NET) subjects for the UGC NET exam 2021. Candidates can view updated syllabi of all the subjects on the UGC NET’s official website @ugcnetonline.in.
UGC NET exam is conducted for a total of 81 subjects every year. Candidates need to select the subject of their choice at the time of filling up the application form for the exam.

UGC NET notification reads,“Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their post-graduation only. The candidates, whose post-graduation subject is not covered in the list of NET subjects, may appear in a related subject”.
The subject chosen by candidates for the UGC NET 2021 exam should be the subject of specialization in their post graduation, or related, in cases when the subject is not covered by the UGC NET list of subjects.
Once a candidate selects a UGC NET subject, they cannot change it in the future under any circumstances. They should carefully select their subject at the time of filing up their application form.
