The National Testing Agency has confirmed the postponement of the UGC NET 2021 May Exams. The news along with the official notification has been released on Twitter.
The UGC NET (University Grant Commission National Eligibility Test) 2021 May Exam was scheduled to be conducted from May 02, 2021. However, the Admit Cards for the exam were not released yet.

Due to the massive rise in the Covid-19 cases all across the country, many exams like UPSC EPFO, JEE Main April, NEET PG, and others have been postponed. In a tweet, UGC NTA NET also announced that the upcoming NET exam will be postponed.
According to the post, the Minister of Education had advised the NTA to postpone the exams keeping in mind the safety and well-being of candidates. The official notice says that the revised exam dates would be declared at least 15 days before the exams.
Apart from this, several Board exams of class 10 have been canceled while that of class 12 have been postponed. The ongoing SSC CHSL exams have been deferred with effect from April 20, 2021, too.
Many students had urged the Agency to postpone the exams seeing the critical state of the nation. Thus, the case of delay in the release of UGC NET Admit Cards had made the students hopeful about their requests being heard.
The UGC NET exam is a computer-based online examination. It consists of two objective types, multiple-choice papers. The Exam is conducted to select candidates for Assistant Professorship or JRF posts.
The students who are going to appear for the exam must keep checking the official website for the revised dates. The Admit Cards will be released on the official website too.
It is mandatory for all the candidates to download and print the Admit Card. They have to carry the hard copies of their Admit Cards along with a valid photo-ID proof to the exam centre in order to be allowed.
