Prem Prakash, who qualified for the UGC NET exam for the fifth time. And this year, he cracked the UGC NET 2020 exam for the Post of Assistant Professor in the History subject. He has obtained a total score of 164 out of 300 marks for both the papers. He scored 70 marks in paper-I and 94 in paper-II. 

Prem Prakash is an extremely talented and highly qualified engineering graduate from Uttarakhand Technical University. Apart from cracking UGC NET for the 5th time, he has also cracked some of the most reputed exams including the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) with 121/150 marks, and Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) with 102/150 marks. Although he was selected as an assistant teacher in UP, he opted for Delhi. At present, Prem is an Assistant Teacher in Delhi Government School and has completed his post-graduation in Medieval History from Bareilly's Rohilkhand University. 

UGC NET 2020: Preparation Tips By Prem For History Subject 

In an interview, When Prem was asked if he was sure to qualify for the UGC NET exam, he confidently confirmed it. Following this, he shared his preparation tips and revealed how he cracked the UGC NET 2020 exams for the 5th time. 

  • In order to score good marks in both the UGC NET papers, the strategy was to go through one good authentic book and revise it over and over again 
  • Try to revise the previous year's UGC NET question papers to understand the concept 
  • Following books can be helpful to prepare for the UGC NET exam which is as follows, 
    • History of Modern India by Bipin Chandra
    • A Penguin History of Early India: From the Origins to AD 1300 by Romila Thapar
    • Drishti IAS Mains Solved Papers
  • To crack any competitive exams, you must first sharpen your strengths and work on your weaknesses, then you can score good marks in your strengths and score average in weaknesses 
  • Rather than reviewing many books to prepare for the UGC NET exam, read the books which are important and boost your confidence and ignore your negative thoughts 
  • Manage your exam timings and go through all the 150 questions in the UGC NET exams before opting for their answers 
  • Firstly, read the question and all the given options for that particular question and now try to remember what you've read about that topic and eliminate the option which is not relevant to that topic
  • If you adopt this method, there's an increased chance to score more 
  • Read-only good quality books which are also authentic and clear to understand 
  • Start the preparation from now onwards, then you'll get more time to go through all the books

By following the above-mentioned tips, Prem prepared himself for UGC NET and cracked it with good scores of 160/300. When asked about his future plans, he hopes to become an assistant professor in one of the reputed colleges in India, and surprisingly, he has started preparing for it.
