UGC NET 2020 (1 October) - Live Updates on Questions, Cut-off, Analysis
The fifth day of the UGC NET 2020 or October 1, 2020 first shift will soon be over at 12 PM. The first shift began at 9 AM and the exam is conducted in two shifts, where the second is going to start at 3 PM. The exam was supposed to be conducted in June 2020, but due to the situation caused by the Pandemic, it was eventually postponed several times till it got scheduled over several days in September, October and November. The following is the timeline of the exam which will be updated from time to time as the day proceeds:
- 12:16 AM- The first shift of the exam has commenced and English was conducted during this shift. The code number for English is 30 and there were questions from various different genres of the subject. This includes poetry, drama, fiction, short-story, non-fictional prose. Also, history and evolution of the language have a major part in the exam. There were questions on literary criticisms, theories post World War II, research methods and materials relevant in English.
- 10 AM- The exam is ongoing currently and the first shift will soon get over at 12 PM. The exam dates for UGC NTA NET are September 24, 25, 29, 30, October 1, 9, and November 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 2020.
- 9:30 AM- The first shift exam has begun. The marking scheme of the NET exam is slightly different as there is no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam is conducted in CBT mode and there are two papers. Paper 1 has 50 questions and paper 2 100 questions- all are of 2 marks each. A total of 3 hours is given to solve the two papers.
- 9:00 AM- The exam is just about to begin and candidates must ensure that they do not carry certain gadgets and accessories with them. Anyone without the admit card or ID proof was not allowed to enter the exam hall. Also, items getting lost or stolen is the sole responsibility of the candidate and they have to accordingly carry the baggage. Docupen, Calculator, Slide Rulers, Electric Watches, Bluetooth devices, extra bits of papers etc. are not allowed into the exam center.
