The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the official schedule for UGC NET 2019 (June session) at ntanet.ac.in. The exam is scheduled from June 20 – 28, 2019 in CBT mode. The registration link will become active from March 1. Apply now!

The exam is conducted for the Junior Research Fellowship or Assistant Professor Posts for Indian citizens. JRF aspirants can continue their research in PG subject or Assistant Professor for different colleges and institutes of India.

NTA was given the authority to hold the exam from December 2018 session. The results for this session were released on January 10 at the official portal. Read more UGC NET Result 

UGC NET June 2019 Schedule

As per the official notification, the June session of UGC NET 2019 will be conducted in a single window. Like previous session, candidates will not be provided any break between paper I and paper II. The schedule is tabulated below:

UGC NET Exam Pattern

Before the December session, the exam was conducted by CBSE. With this there were 3 papers that formed the exam. Now, as the governing body is changed so has the exam pattern and various other particulars of the exams. Check Changes Introduced in UGC NET Exam

Highlights of UGC NET Exam Pattern are listed below:

  • Total Papers: 2 wherein, UGC NET Paper 1 will be a common paper while Paper 2 will be subject based.
  • Duration of Exam: 3 hours
  • Mode of Exam: Online i.e. computer based exam
  • Type of Questions: Objective i.e. MCQs
  • Marking Scheme: Correct Answer +2 and no marks will be deducted for incorrect or unanswered question.

Eligibility for UGC NET Registration

Given below are the eligibility criteria based on various categories:

  • Candidates who have completed their master’s degree or an equivalent degree are eligible for applying UGC NET June 2019.
  • Maximum marks: candidates who got 55% of marks in the master’s degree or an equivalent degree are eligible (50% of marks for reserved categories)
  • 2 years LL.M degree is required for applying UGC NET 2019 Assistant Professor post
  • SLET/ NET/ LET examinations scores are needed for applying UGC NET 2019 Assistant Professor post

Age Limit:

  • There is no age limit for Assistant Professor post
  • The maximum age limit for Junior Research Fellowship will be 30
  • For women, OBC, SC, ST, PwD category there will be 5 years age relaxation in upper age
  • Age relaxation will be provided for the 2 years LL.M degree holders and research experience applicants

Nationality:

Only Indian citizens or applicants should apply for UGC NET June 2019 examination.

How to Apply for UGC NET? 

Applicants can apply for UGC NET exam March 1, 2019, onwards. The last date for applying this exam is March 30, 2019. Follow the steps for applying this exam:

  • Visit the official website of UGC or www.ugcnetonline.in
  • Click the link “Apply for UGC NET 2019” shown on the web page
  • Read all the instructions clearly and click “Proceed to Apply Online” link
  • On the new page, enter your name, Date of Birth, and email ID
  • Click “Submit” button and your application number will be generated
  • Fill other required details and submit the required documents and attach the photographs
  • Upload your recent photograph of minimum 4 kb to 40kb maximum size in JPEG format
  • Upload your signature of minimum 4 kb to 30 kb maximum size in JPEG format
  • After applying, select the payment mode to pay your application fee
  • You can also check your application fee status before leaving the payment web page
  • Candidates can take printout for the confirmation page

Application fee of UGC NET will not be refundable.

  • General – INR 800
  • OBC – INR 400
  • SC/ ST/ Transgender/ Physically Disabled – INR 200

UGC NET Form Correction

NTA provide correction facility for the submitted online application forms. After the last date of submission application forms, the correction process will be started. Applicants can access the correction window which will starts from April 2019. Applicants can modify or edit in a few fields available in the application form. Read more

So, to wind up, the eligible candidates must submit their UGC NET June session online application form by the due date. Alongside, they should start their preparations with full zeal and target to secure a good ranking in the first session itself.
