UGC Issues a Letter for Filling up Backlog Reserved Teaching & Non-Teaching Posts

February 02, 2021: University Grants Commission has notified and requested all the universities and colleges about providing the vacancy details for the teaching and no teaching posts under various reserved categories. 

The Commission has also asked the universities that get public funding to apply the Reservation Policy in Article 30 (1) of the Constitution of India in an effective manner. UGC mentioned all the related details in the letter issued on February 1, 2021 on its official website.

Apart from the vacancy details, institutions/universities are also required to update the information of admission to different courses and accommodation facilities on the respective institution websites as well as on the UGC portal. 

Furthermore, the letter also states that there will be smooth functioning of the government-aided institutions. This means that the working of the institutions must be wholly based on the government rules & regulations. 

There must be strict and standard discipline in the reservation system at various government colleges and institutions. Concluding, it highlighted that the universities must fill the backlog reserved vacancy details and update the portal without any delay.
