The Admit card for UGC NET 2020 has been available to download from September 19, 2020. CBSE  holds this NET exam on behalf of UGC to select eligible candidates for the posts of Junior Research Fellowship and for Assistant Professor in Indian Universities. Date of application for UGC NET June Session expired on June 30, 2020 (11:50 PM). Furthermore, the official website of the exam was catering to the candidates who wished to rectify or make changes to their initial application. This facility was operational from a week, from July 20, 2020. The next step in the process is the release of admit card, which according to the UGC NET circular has begin on September 18, 2020. It can be downloaded from the official website of the exam. ugcnet.nta.nic.in

To download the CBSE UGC NET 2017 Admit card candidate must follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website using the link ugcnet.nta.nic.in 
  • Click on the link available to download UGC NET Admit Card.
  • Enter the details such as Date of Birth/ Form number /Registration/Application number.
  • Click on the ‘submit’ button.
  • The admit card will be available on the screen.
  • Check all the details mentioned on the admit card.
  • Click on ‘save’ to download the admit card.
  • Print the admit card to keep for future reference.

Applicants are encouraged to verify the details present on the admit card. Since this admit card has to be produced at the examination centre, it is imperative that details on the admit card, (such as name, photograph, examination centre, time, roll number etc) are present and correct. Without admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

Admit card also contains instructions and rules for CBSE UGC NET Exam . It’d be wise for candidates to go through it. The candidates will have to mark the response for the questions of Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III on the Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Sheet provided along with the Test Booklet. Remaining Information regarding OMR sheet will again be provided on Admit Card.

According to the notice from the director of the board, all the other details will be available on the official website of CBSE. 


National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted to award eligible Indian nationals Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) which enables them to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject. Additionally, qualification of NET examination also opens the door for a candidate to be employed as Assistant Professor at Indian universities and colleges. Certain universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them. The exam is conducted in three sessions and qualification depends solely on the performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET.

All the two sessions take place on the same day and consist of only objective type questions. The Exam will be of 300 Marks and candidates will be required to complete the exam within the allotted time of 180 minutes. While the first session shall contain General Aptitude, Test comprising of questions related to reasoning, mental ability and general awareness, the second session shall be MCQ with 100 compulsory questions on the subject you have applied for.
