The Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer Online Examination (SSC JE Paper I) has completed its 4th day on January 25, 2018. Here is an analysis of SSC JE 2018 to help students get an idea of the pattern. It will help those who have exam in the next few days. Check SSC JE Cut off

• The difficulty of the overall paper on all shifts of day 4th was moderate. The question pattern followed the trends of the previous years. Check SSC JE Paper Analysis
• General Intelligence & Reasoning was the most scoring section.
• General Awareness was moderate to difficult. Questions were based on static GK, general science and current affairs from the last 10 months.
• Technical section was moderate to difficult and focused on conceptual knowledge of respective subjects.
• SSC JE 2018 Result for paper 1 is expected to release on or before February 12, 2018 and paper 2 results will be out tentatively by April 5, 2018.

### SSC JE 2018 Answer Key

SSC will release Question Paper and Answer Key for SSC JE Paper I on their official website few days after completion of all shifts of the examination. Answer Key for all subjects will be released in two stages: provisional and final. Students can calculate their score by downloading the Answer Key. They can challenge the provisional answer key by filling an objection form that will be released by SSC online.

### SSC JE 2018 Paper Analysis (Sectional)

#### General Intelligence & Reasoning

Students who appeared for the exam felt that GI & Reasoning was the most scoring section of the whole paper. This section has 50 questions. The difficulty level was easy to moderate.

1. Syllogism - 2 to 3 questions
2. Analogy – 2 to 3 questions
3. Logical Statement – 1 to 2 questions
4. Blood Relation – 3 to 4 questions
5. Alphabetical Coding/Decoding – 4 to 5 questions
6. Odd one out – 6 to 7 questions
7. Direction Test – 3 to 4 questions
8. Paper Folding – 1 to 2 questions
9. Water Image – 1 to 2 questions
10. Alpha Numeric Series – 3 to 4 questions
11. Matrix – 1 question
12. Missing character – 1 to 2 questions
13. Number Series - 4 to 5 questions
14. Miscellaneous – 10 to 12 questions

Students can allot 30 to 35 minutes for attempting this section. As it contains negative marking guess work should be avoided. A good attempt can be 38 to 44 questions with good accuracy.

#### General Awareness

Questionsbased on current affairs from the last year and the current year ruled this section. Apart from that questions were asked on general science, economics and computers. This section comprised of 50 questions. The overall difficulty was moderate. The analysis is as follows:

1. History – 3 to 5 questions
2. Geography – 3 to 4 questions
3. Polity – 4 to 5 questions
4. Economics – 2 to 3 questions
5. Biology – 5 to 10 questions
6. Physics – 3 to 5 questions
7. Chemistry – 3 to 5 questions
8. Computer – 2 to 3 questions
9. Current affairs – 5 to 10 questions
10. Miscellaneous – 10 to 13 questions

Students can allot 15 to 20 minutes for this section. A good attempt is 30 to 35 questions with excellent accuracy.

#### General Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical)

The technical section has 100 questions. It is the major part of the paper. Questions are based on respective subjects. Good knowledge on the subjects is necessary to score in this section. Students felt the difficulty of the section this year was moderate to tough. Questions are mainly conceptual. Here we have given a subject wise brief analysis of the section to help the students.

Questions were asked on the following topics:

10. Electrical Energy and its utilization

Mechanical

The questions covered the following topics:

1. Fluid Mechanics
2. Thermal Engineering
3. Production Engineering
4. Strength of materials and engineering mechanics
5. Theory of machine and machine design

A good attempt from the technical section can be 63 to 70 questions with good accuracy.

### SSC JE Cut off 2018

The cut off for SSC JE 2018 Paper I will be declared along with the declaration of the result. Students can check the cut off marks from the official website. Cut off for SSC JE 2018 will depend on the factor like difficulty of the paper, number of examinees, previous year cut offs etc.
