SSC JE 2017 exam began on March 1, 2017 and is still in process till March 5, 2017. The exam on March 1 was successfully conducted in two slots. The morning shift paper was conducted in the slot of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. It was held for recruitment of Junior Engineer post in various government departments. Candidates qualified in stage 1 are called for stage 2. For the final selection, they will be called for the personal interview round.
There was a total of 200 multiple choice questions asked in the paper. SSC JE question paper comprised three sections i.e. General Awareness, General Intelligence/ Reasoning and General Engineering Sections. The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate. One mark would be awarded for every correct response and one-fourth marks would be deducted for every incorrect response.
SSC JE 2017 answer key and question paper will be updated soon once it is available. The answer will be made available by SSC in the 2nd week of April 2017. More than one lakhs of candidates have applied for SSC JE 2017. General Engineering section contained 100 questions. General Awareness and General Intelligence section contained 50 question each. Political Science, Geography and History covered most of the questions in this section. The questions from computer awareness, Chemistry and Physics were quite easy to attempt. The difficulty level of this section was moderate to difficult.

The level of this section was easy. The questions were asked from analogy, blood relation, matrix, series, missing character, water image, direction, alphabetical sequence, odd one out etc. Candidates can easily score more than 40 marks in this section if they attempted properly. This section comprised both verbal and non-verbal reasoning questions.
General Engineering contained technical questions from Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering. Technical section was of moderate level. It consisted of 100 questions in the exam. Here, we are discussing the analysis of Electrical/ Mechanical and Civil Engineering paper with their topics asked in the examination.
Electrical machines contained highest weightage in Electrical Engineering paper. The questions were asked from electrical energy, magnetic circuits, instrumentation, transmission and distribution etc. Any score more than 60 marks will be a good one. The questions from magnetic circuits and basic concepts were easier to score.

The questions were asked from Mechanical Engineering syllabus. It comprised topics of theory of machine, fluid mechanics, machinery, production engineering etc. Thermal Engineering topic contained highest weightage in this paper. Most of the questions were easy to attempt but time consuming. Candidates must be aware of negative marking. Candidates have to score more than 60 marks in this paper.
