The Tier 1 Exam of SSC CHSL is still in process. The Exam of SSC CHSL started from Jan 07, 2017 and would be conducted till Feb 05, 2017. The Exam was conducted on Jan 22, 2017 in three slots for duration of 75 minutes each.

The SSC CHSL Tier 1 Jan 20 exam was of moderate level. The exam conducted on January 22 was difficult than the exams already conducted.

The SSC CHSL exam consists of General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness for a total of 200 marks. Each section consists of 25 questions having 50 marks. There is no negative marking in the question paper.

General Ability and Reasoning

The section of General Ability and Reasoning tests the logical analytics, thinking and non- verbal skills of the students. This section contains 25 questions in which 20-24 questions consider as safe attempts.

The highest number of question came from Classification of odd one out which were moderate in level. Maximum numbers of questions came from the topics like Blood Relations, Number/Alphabet Series, and Analogy. The Level of difficulty for these topics was moderate. Students could easily score marks in the topics like alphabet, analogy, blood relations. These topics were easy and many questions came from them. There were 5 miscellaneous questions which were easy in difficulty.

General Awareness

The questions asked in general awareness was based on the previous pattern. The section of General Awareness tests the general knowledge and current affairs of the students. The total number of question in this section was 25 which consisted of 50 marks. Each correct response carried 2 marks. Safe attempts for this section were 14 out of 25 questions.

Students can score marks easily in chemistry. The highest numbers of questions came from chemistry and were easy in level. The topics which asked majorly were names of books and authors, static GK, geography, and history and were moderate in level. Whereas the minimum number of question came from physics and was moderate in level.

English Comprehension

This section tests the Basic English knowledge of students. This section contains 25 questions which was of 50 marks and were moderate in level. An average attempt for this section was 17-23 out of 25.

 The highest number of question came from Antonym and Synonym which were moderate in level. Students can score easily in the topics like Para jumbles, cloze test and spelling correction as they were easy.

General Aptitude

Mathematical understanding of students was check in the section of General Aptitude. These sections consisted of 25 questions and were moderate in level. This section was difficult than the section of English, general awareness and knowledge. Safe attempts for this section were 17-19 out of 25.

 Students can easily score in the topics like algebra and data interpretation as the highest number of question came from it and were easy. Maximum number of question came from trigonometry, time, work, SI and CI. These topics were moderate in level. Only one question was asked from arithmetic series and it was easy.

Overall Analysis of SSC CHSL

The section General Aptitude was difficult than the section of reasoning, English and general knowledge. Overall level of difficulty for SSC CHSL 2017 was moderate. Students can safely attempt 68-86 questions out of 100 to clear the cut off for SSC CHSL 2017.
