Every year SSC conducts SSC CHSL to recruit for differents posts like Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO) & postal assistant. SSC CHSL 2021 Tier 1 will be conducted between April 12 to 27 April 2021. It is important to go through the salary details for the applied post, as SSC has revised the pay scale of SSC CHSL posts. According to the revised pay scale, the starting salary in SSC CHSL will be from INR 17-18,000. SSC is also providing allowances with basic pay scale in all the posts. SSC CHSL : Salary Components

To understand the salary structure, it is important to know the components mentioned below :

Pay Scale Pay scale depends on the duties and responsibilities you handle at job. This is the salary set by the employer.
Basic Pay This is the intial salary + grade pay. It also depends upon your job profile.
CPC Fitment Factor The modifications after the 7th pay of commission is CPC Fitment Factor. All other evaluations play a role while deciding the CPC.
HRA HRA stands for House Rent Allowance. This is a reimbursement provided to the employees as a stay ease.
NPS NPS means the National Pension Scheme. A small amount of your monthly income is deducted from salary and that same amount is given to the person in his old age on monthly basis.
CGEGIS CGEGIS stands for Central Govt. Employees Group Insurance Scheme. The scheme offers a two-way benefit process- an insurance cover in order to help the employee’s family and a lump sum amount to augment their resources on retirement.
CGHS CGHS stands for Central Government Health Scheme. This scheme provides medical facilities to the employees.

SSC CHSL Job Profile and Promotion Policies

Staff Selection Commission also provides promotions from time to time. The promotion policy is different for Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC), Data Entry Operator (DEO), Sorting Assistants (SA) / Postal Assistants (PA) and Court Clerk.

Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA)

Job Profile - The work responsibilities of LDC and JSA includes office tasks like maintain data, files, and documents of the office in a systematic manner. LDCs are first level clerks in government organizations.

Promotion Policy - LDC can be promoted as Upper Division Clerk, Division Clerk and Section Officer.

Data Entry Operator (DEO)

Job Profile - DEO needs to handle office computers. So, applicants are required to have sufficient knowledge of computers. Candidates should also have good typing speed. Typing is one of the most responsibilities of DEO post.

Promotion Policy - A DEO has to give different exams conducted by SSC for promotions. It can be promoted as Data Entry Operator Grade B, Grade C and Grade F (system analyst).

Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA)

Job Profile - PA/SA responsibilities include disposal of mails and maintaining the data, customer support, handling customer queries and providing them a feasible solution etc.

Promotion Policy - In postal assistant designation, a candidate has to gain 5 years of experience and give Postmaster Grade I examination to promoted as Supervisor (LSG), Senior Supervisor and Chief Supervisor (HSS).
