The Staff Selection Commission has begun the 2021 Combined Higher Secondary Tier I Exam from today, April 12, 2021, onwards. The exam is being conducted online at multiple exam centres across India except for West Bengal. 

The exams are being conducted keeping the Covid-19 pandemic in mind and all the necessary arrangements have been made by the Commission. The candidates have to wear masks at all times and carry their own sanitizers and water bottles with them.

The SSC CHSL Exam Tier I is being conducted in three shifts- Morning, Afternoon, and Evening. Shift 1 of the first day of the exam has already been conducted and here are all the details about it. 

The SSC CHSL Exam is being conducted to recruit candidates for the 4726 vacant positions of LDC, JSA, PA, SA, and DEO in various offices of the Government of India. 

According to the students who appeared for the SSC CHSL Tier I exam in Shift 1 and the exam analysis experts, the difficulty level of the exam was moderate. Following is the exam analysis of the first shift exam in detail.

SSC CHSL 2021 Shift 1- Overall Analysis

  • The Tier I exam consists of four sections- English Language, General Intelligence, General Awareness, and Quantitative Aptitude.
  • Each section contains 25 questions making the total 100.
  • The total marks of the paper are 200 and the duration is 1 hour (60 minutes).
  • Each question holds 2 marks and there is a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
  • The question paper is bilingual except for the English Language section.
