SSC CHSL TIER 1 completed its third week and is still in process. The SSC CHSL started from Jan 07, 2017 and will be conducted till Feb 05, 2017. The Exam on Jan 24, 2017 was conducted in three slots.

The exam conducted on January 24 was difficult than the exams already conducted. The pattern of the question paper is same as the previous pattern.

The SSC CHSL exam consists the section of General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness for a total of 200 marks. Each section consists of 50 marks having 25 questions. Each correct answer carries 2 marks. There is no negative marking in the question paper.

A detailed analysis of all sections is given below with the maximum and minimum number of question with name of the topic and its difficulty level.


General Awareness

This section of General Awareness tests the basic general knowledge and current affairs of the candidates. This section consisted of 25 questions which were of 50 marks. The overall section was moderate in difficulty level. The safe attempts for this section were 15 out of 25 questions.

The maximum number of questions came from the topics of chemistry, geography, and static GK. The level of these questions was moderate. Candidate can easily score good marks in the topics like history, polity, physics, and biology as they were easy.

General Intelligence and Reasoning

The section of General Intelligence and reasoning check the candidate’s thinking skills, non-verbal skills and logical analytics. This section consisted of 25 questions having 50 marks. Each correct answer carried 2 marks. The difficulty level of the section was moderate but some of the questions were easy. Minimum attempts for this section were 14 out of 25 questions.

Maximum number of questions came from the topic of classification which were easy and from the topic of series which were moderate in level. Minimum number of question came from blood relation which was easy in level and very easy to score.

General Aptitude

The section of General Aptitude tests the basic mathematical understanding of the student. Section of general aptitude was difficult in comparison with the section of English, General awareness and Intelligence. This section consisted of 25 questions of 50 marks. The level of difficulty for this section was moderate and the safe attempts were 17 out of 25 questions.

The highest number of question came from data interpretation and the difficulty level was moderate. Maximum number of question came from the topic of trigonometry, coordinates geometry and algebra and was moderate in difficulty. Basic trigonometry facts and identities were asked and easy to score. Candidates can score good marks in the topic of time, speed, and distance as they were easy. There were 4-5 miscellaneous questions which were moderate in difficulty level.

English Comprehension

The section of English tests the basic language and grammar of the students. This section was overall easy but some questions were moderate. The section consisted of 25 questions. Each correct answer carried two marks.

Candidates can score good marks in the question from the topic of cloze test. The highest numbers of question came from this topic and were easy as well. Maximum number of questions came from the topic of antonym/synonym, idioms, phrases, and cloze test. Minimal number of questions came from the topics of Para jumble and narration.

Overall Analysis

SSC CHSL Exam was overall moderate. Total numbers of questions were 100 from which 77-85 were safe attempts. Questions of General Aptitude were difficult than the questions of English, general awareness and Intelligence.
