SSC CHSL Tier I examination on January 28, 2017 slot was successfully conducted in all centers and now it’s time to get a quick look at analysis of the exam. The SSC CHSL exam is attended by hundreds of candidates every year to live up their dream job in the posts:

SSC CHSL Tier I Sectional analysis

After getting a brief idea of the overall analysis of SSC CHSL Tier I Jan 28, 2017 Exam, let us now move forward to have a look at the section wise analysis.


CHSL Tier I - Reasoning & General Intelligence

It has 25 questions of 50 marks. Each question of reasoning has 2 marks weightage. Major topics covered were syllogism, number series, statement questions, Blood relation, Data sufficiency etc.

Difficulty level: It was of Easy – Moderate level of difficulty.

Good attempts: The attempt of 18-20 questions will help you to score beyond the cutoff marks.

Majorly question came from Number / Alphabet series which were easy in level. Other important questions came from the topics like logical reasoning, direction sense, and blood relations. The level of difficulty for these topics was easy. There were 5-7 miscellaneous questions which were easy to moderate in nature.

CHSL Tier I - Quantitative Aptitude

It is also the important part of SSC CHSL. Mathematics has 50 marks weightage in this recruitment. Major topics considered were DI, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Compound Interest, Average etc.

Difficulty level: It was Moderate in difficulty level.

Good attempts: To surpass cutoff marks, 17-20 number of safe attempts can be considered.

Aspirants can easily score in the topics like Data interpretation as it was easy in nature. Maximum number of question came from coordinate geometry, averages & percentages, and speed & distance. These topics were easy to moderate in level. There were 10-12 miscellaneous questions which were easy to moderate in nature.

CHSL Tier I - English Language

This section will play the crucial role. Majorly covered topics were paragraph comprehension, synonym, antonym, cloze test etc.

Difficulty level: It was Moderate in nature.

Good Attempts: An average attempt of 18-20 number of questions considered enough to surpass cutoff marks.

This section tests the Basic English knowledge of aspirants. The highest number of question came from Antonyms & Synonyms, and Cloze test which were easy to moderate in nature. Aspirants could score easily in the topics like spelling, sentence / para jumbles, and error spotting / sentence correction as they were easy to moderate in nature.

CHSL Tier I - General Awareness

The total number of question in this section was 25 which consisted of 50 marks. Each correct response carried 2 marks.

Difficulty level: It was Moderate in difficulty level.

Good Attempts: Safe attempts for this section were 19-21 out of 25 questions.

The difficulty level of this section was Moderate. The highest number of questions came from Science & Technology which was moderate in nature. The topics which asked majorly were from history, economy & finance, geography, current affairs, and computer which were easy to moderate in nature. Whereas the minimum number of question came from politics which was of easy level.
