SSC CHSL February 7, 2017 paper took place in 3 shifts. Here, we are providing you an overall analysis to know the level of difficulty of exam, weightage of exam topics, predicted exam pattern and overall section wise good attempt.

  • The overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. 
  • The difficulty level of general awareness and English language in SSC CHSL was moderate in nature.
  • SSC CHSL quantitative aptitude and reasoning were marked easy. 
  • SSC CHSL Exam comprised General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness for a total of 200 marks.
  • Each section consists of 25 questions holding 50 marks. There is no negative marking in the question paper.
  • Candidates have to attempt the total 100 questions in the duration of three hours. 

SSC CHSL February 7, 2017 Overall Analysis

The overall difficulty level of SSC CHSL exam was moderate. The CHSL paper analysis is depicted in the following table. It can be seen that around 72-79 questions were the good attempts as per the analysis.

The difficulty level of GA & English in SSC CHSL was moderate in nature. SSC CHSL Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning were marked easy and almost all the questions were attempted.

SSC CHSL Feb 7, 2017 Paper Analysis: Reasoning

The difficulty level of reasoning section was easy to moderate. It has 25 questions of 50 marks. Each question of reasoning has 2 marks weightage. Major topics covered were syllogism, number series, statement questions, blood relation, data sufficiency etc. 

Majorly question came from number / alphabet series which were easy in level. Other important questions came from the topics like classification, direction sense, and blood relations.

The level of difficulty for these topics was easy. There were 1-4 miscellaneous questions which were easy to moderate in nature. No question was asked on Puzzles and Syllogisms.

SSC CHSL Feb 7, 2017 Paper Analysis: General Awareness

General Knowledge is the most knowing sections for the students. The total number of question in this section was 25 which consisted of 50 marks. Each correct response carried 2 marks. 

The difficulty level of this section was moderate. The highest number of questions came from General Science which was easy in nature. The topics which asked majorly were from history, economy & finance, geography, current affairs, and computer which were easy to moderate in nature. Whereas the minimum number of question came from politics which was of moderate level.

Good Attempts: Safe attempts for this section could be 17-20 out of 25 questions.

SSC CHSL Feb 7, 2017 Paper Analysis: English

This section tests the Basic English knowledge of aspirants. The highest number of question came from Antonyms & Synonyms, fill in the blanks and Cloze test which were easy to moderate in nature. Aspirants could score easily in the topics like spelling, sentence/para jumbles, and error spotting/sentence correction as they were easy to moderate in nature. No questions were asked on Reading Comprehension. 

This section will play the crucial role. Majorly covered topics were synonym, antonym, cloze test, fill in the blanks, etc.

Difficulty level: It was moderate in nature. 

Good Attempts: An average attempt of 15-18 number of questions considered enough to surpass cut off marks.

SSC CHSL Feb 7, 2017 Paper Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude

  • It is also the important part of SSC CHSL. Mathematics has 50 marks weightage in this recruitment. Major topics considered were DI, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Compound Interest, Average etc.
  • The Difficulty level of this section was Easy to Moderate. To surpass cut off marks, 19-20 number of safe attempts can be considered.
  • Aspirants can easily score in the topics like Data interpretation as it was moderate in nature.

  • A maximum number of question came from coordinate geometry, and geometry. These topics were easy to moderate in level. There were 4-8 miscellaneous questions which were moderate in nature.
  • Miscellaneous questions include Time Speed Distance, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Partnership, Simple & Compound Interest, Percentages, Ratio Proportion, Averages, Mixtures & Alligations, Simplification, Permutation Combination, Probability.
