SSC CHSL exam is taking place until February 8, 2017 in 3 shifts. Here is the SSC CHSL paper analysis for Feb 6, 2017. Candidates who are appearing for SSC CHSL exam this year, can go through this analysis to know the level of difficulty of exam, weightage of exam topics, predicted exam pattern and overall section wise good attempt.

  • The first shift of SSC CHSL was held from 10:00 am to 11:15 am, 2nd shift was held from 1:15 pm to 2:30 pm and the 3rd shift was held from 4:15 pm to 5: 30 pm.
  • The level of questions were almost same in all the shifts held on February 6, 2017.
  • The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate and the good attempts were 75-85.
  • Applicants had to attempt total 100 questions in the duration of 1 hour 15 minutes. 

SSC CHSL Analysis Feb 6, 2017 Overall Analysis

The overall SSC CHSL Feb 6 Paper Analysis is depicted in the following table. It can be seen that around 75-85 questions were the good attempts as per the analysis. Candidates attempted least number of questions as per the other sections.

The difficulty level of GA in SSC CHSL Exam was easy to moderate while English was of moderate level. SSC CHSL Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning were marked easy and almost all the questions were attempted.

SSC CHSL Feb 6, 2017 Paper Analysis: Reasoning

General Ability and Reasoning section tests the ability of candidate in logical analytics, thinking and non- verbal skills. The section was marked easy by many of the candidates. The good attempts were 21-23 out of 25 questions.

Questions based on Classification dominated the section with around 3 questions in SSC CHSL paper. There was no question based on Puzzles and Syllogisms and same is expected in the next SSC CHSL paper to be held on February 7, 2017.

SSC CHSL Feb 6, 2017 Paper Analysis: General Awareness

The total number of question asked in this section were 25 consisted of 50 marks. Each correct response carried 2 marks. Safe attempts for this section were 20-21 out of 25 questions. The difficulty level of GA section was marked easy to moderate.

General Science topic dominated this section with around 8 questions and they were easy to attempt. The other topics that consisted great number of questions were from Geography and History.

SSC CHSL Feb 6, 2017 Paper Analysis: English

The difficulty level of this section was marked Moderate. Candidates attempted 17-19 questions as the good attempts. Each question carried 2 marks. This section checks the candidates’ basic knowledge of English.

The highest number of question were from Antonyms & Synonyms, and Cloze test which was moderate in nature. Only 1-1 question was asked from active/passive and direct/ indirect speech and they were easy to solve.

Aspirants could score easily in the topics such as spelling, sentence /para jumbles, and error spotting/ sentence correction, direct & indirect speech, and active & passive voice as they were easy.

No questions were asked on Reading Comprehension this year in SSC CHSL 2017 exam. The distribution of questions is depicted in the following table:

SSC CHSL Feb 6, 2017 Paper Analysis: Quantitative Aptitude

As the previous SSC CHSL exams, maximum questions were from Arithmetic sections. The difficulty level of this section was Easy. Around 21-23 questions considered the best attempt.

Candidates can easily score well in the topics such as Data interpretation & coordinate geometry as the highest number of question came from it and were easy.

There were miscellaneous questions that were from mensuration, trigonometry, and geometry. These topics were of easy to moderate in level. There were 4-8 miscellaneous questions which were moderate in nature.
