Staff Selection Commission has released the exam schedule for CHSL tier 2020. As per the latest notice of SSC, The Tier-1 exam of SSC CHSL will be conducted on 12.10.2020 to 16.10.2020, 19.10.2020 to 21.10.2020 and 26.10.2020 for the leftover candidates in multiple session. SSC CHSL exam is conducted for recruitment of candidates to the posts of lower division clerk, data entry operator, postal assistant and sorting assistant and court clerk in various government departments. The exam is held for candidates who have qualified 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination from a recognized board of education.

SSC CHSL 2016 Tier I Notification

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the Official Notification for SSC CHSL 2020 exam for the post of Lower Divisional Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) and Data Entry Operator(DEO) on December 03, 2019, on the official website. According to the notification available on the official website, the tier-I exam has been decided to be conducted from March 16, 2020, to March 27, 2020. Due to the pandemic caused by a virus named COVID-19, the exam has been postponed. Check out Revised Exam Dates of SSC CHSL

On the other hand, the SSC has announced the notification date and SSC CHSL exam date Tier I for 2020 recruitment. SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Date is April 12th 2021 onwards and the notification for 2021 recruitment is expected to be out by November 6th 2020.

SSC CHSL 2020 - 2021 Practice Test and Paper Analysis

Along with the official notification for SSC CHSL Tier I exam schedule, the commission has also released practice test and walkthrough on the official website. Since CHSL exam is being conducted in the online mode for the first time, the practice test and walk through the aim to help candidates get familiarized with the new pattern of the exam. Candidates can access the Walk Through and Practice test through the following steps:

  2. On the home page, you will find Latest News.
  3. Scroll down the latest news listed and find the links for the practice test and walkthrough.
  4. Click on each link respectively to access the test.

SSC CHSL Tier I Exam Pattern

SSC CHSL Tier I exam is an objective type paper conducted in online mode only. There will be four sections in the question paper – General Intelligence, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. The total time duration for completion of the exam is  60 Minutes. Tier 1 Exam will have 100 questions with a total of 200 marks. Each section will have 25 questions. The sectional breakup of marks is 50 each and total marks are 200. This means that 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer. Earlier the paper comprised of 200 questions. For each correct answer, 2 marks will be awarded. Negative marking of 0.50 marks will be applicable in the exam. 

This change in marking scheme is bound to affect the cutoff marks this year. In comparison to last year’s cutoff, there might be a difference of over 15-20 marks.
