Probable reasons behind the Decline in IBPS Clerk 2020 vacancies:

  • 10 PSU or Public Sector Undertaking banks have been merged together into four banks. Hence, the number of banks recruiting through IBPS Clerk has gone down to 12 this year.
  • Many banks are relying on robotics to centralize the basic operations and hence, generate a quicker turnaround. This way, the need for manual labour has decreased.
  • The number of retirements this year is less and hence vacancies has not been created due to the outgoing resources.

Many candidates have taken to twitter, to express their dissatisfaction with the reduced number of vacancies and are indicative of foul play by IBPS this year.
