November 27, 2020: The IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 5, 12 and 13, 2020. Lakhs of aspirants appear for the IBPS Clerk Exam every year making it one of the most exams in the country. A lot of hard work is needed to beat the crowd and make a place for yourself. But apart from hard work, smart planning is also required for the preparation of the exam. We have made a list of last-minute preparations that will help the candidates appearing for the IBPS Clerk 2020 to score well in the exam. 

IBPS Clerk 2020 Preparation Tips for the exam day

The following strategy should be followed by the candidate on the day of the exam:

  • In case you find a particular question difficult, do not waste your time in trying to find its solution. Move on to the next question and come back to it after you are done with the rest of the questions. 
  • Keep in mind the sectional IBPS Clerk cutoff and the overall cutoff. If a particular section seems particularly challenging, leave it for the end.
  • Ensure that you answer the minimum number of questions required to clear the sectional cutoff with good accuracy.
  • Some questions can be tricky. Make sure that you read them very carefully before answering.
  • Avoid using the shortcuts that you learn just before the exam and avoid guesswork


An essential part of one’s exam preparation is revision. Make sure you revise all the concepts for the exam, especially the formulas for Quantitative Aptitude and certain rules for Reasoning Ability. Try to memorize as much information as you can as this will help boost your confidence.

Practice the questions that you find important and the ones which cover the essential sections of the syllabus till the very last day. This way you will be able to access your performance and it will also help you with time management which is very important. If you are able to build up your consistency, you will not have any problems with attempting all the questions within the prescribed time-frame.

Avoid new topics

While reading and revising during the last few days, do not start with new topics. It will only hurt your preparation process instead of helping with it. Instead, just stick to the topics you have already prepared and revise them.

Study regularly

Have some time designated for reading every day. At least an hour should be dedicated solely for the preparation of the exam. This way you will be able to cover all the topics given in the IBPS Clerk syllabus.

Take proper rest

Taking a proper rest before the exam is very important. Do not push yourself. Eat proper healthy food and remain confident about your preparation and you will do great.
