The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has released the notification for IBPS Clerk 2020 and candidates should check the eligibility criteria carefully before applying. The age limit, educational qualification, are very important criteria to be noted before applying. The IBPS Clerk Application process 2020 will go on from September 2-23, 2020. The following are important eligibility criteria highlights which you must take into account before you apply:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan. Tibetan refugee who immigrated to India before January 1, 1962 with the intension to settle here is also eligible. However, anyone other than the permanent citizen of the country have to produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the government of India during the document verification process.
  • The age limit for general category is 20-28 years. However there is age relaxation from 3-10 years for reserved category, widowed/divorcee women, PWD and ex-servicemen.
  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized state and central university. They should also be proficient in the state official language and in Computer application.

The IBPS Clerk exam is conducted every year to recruit eligible candidates in several public sector banks in the country. This year, only 1500 approximately vacancy has been declared. This means the competition will be higher than ever. This is a sharp dip from the approximately 12000 vacancies declared last year and there have already been protests from aspirants about the same in Twitter. Click here to know more
