KPTCL (Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited) has released the notification for recruitment in KPTCL and Electricity Supply Companies for Hyderabad and Non- Hyderabad candidates.

  • 1450 vacancies will be allotted to NHK candidates and 198 vacancies for NK candidates by KPTCL.
  • Candidates having BE/B.Tech degree in the equivalent stream with minimum marks can apply for these posts. Check Eligibility
  • Candidates can apply through online mode from March 3, 2019.
  • Selection process will be based on merit considering marks secured in online common aptitude test.

KPTCL 2019 Recruitment: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have class 12/graduation/diploma in required stream from the recognized university/institution to apply the common aptitute test.

  • Age: Candidates should be above 18 years old as on April 4, 2019. Upper age limit will be applicable for reserved category candidates:

KPTCL 2019 Recruitment: How to Apply?

Candidates can fill the application form from March 5, 2019 in online mode only. The last date to submit the application form is April 4, 2019. Check the following steps to fill the application form below:

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on the tab “Recruitment”
  3. Find out the link of Non-Hyderabad Karnataka and Hyderabad Karnataka.
  4. Fill all the required details.
  5. Pay application fee.
  6. Click on the submit button
  7. Download and take a print out of the application for future use

  • For General and I. IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB = INR 500
  • For SC/ST Category = INR 300

KPTCL 2019 Recruitment: Common Aptitude Test Details

  • Duration of online exam is 2 hours.
  • It consists of objective type questions of 100 marks.
  • For each correct answer, 1 marks will be awarded and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
  • The question paper will be in English language only for Group A and B posts.
  • The exam will be conducted in 8 centers and candidates can choose any of the one exam center given below:
Bengaluru Mysuru Devanagari Mangaluru
Belagavi kalabrugi Hubbali Ballari


Those candidates who appearing for Group A and B posts have to appear in Kannada Language Test before the aptitude test.

  • Those candidates who appearing for group a and b posts should have passed the SSLC exam will kannnada as 1st language or 2nd language or any other exam higher than SSLC in which kannada is the main language or as an optional subject.
  • Candidates who have studied and passed in kannada language medium are exempted from passing compulsory kannada language test but if the candidates have studied and passed kannada as 3rd language or kannada in engineering degree are not exempted from the test.
  • Candidates who have not studied and passed kannada language as mentioned above are required to pass a Kannada Language Test which will be scheduled before the Common Aptitude Test. The test will be of 150 marks and candidates have to score a minimum of 50 marks.
  • The test will be conducted only at Bangalore.

KPTCL 2019 Recruitment: Selection Process

  • KPTCL selection process consists of online common aptitude test and selection will be done on merit based marks.
  • In case, the aptitude test for any post is conducted in multiple sessions, then standard practice of equating will be followed to determining the percentile per session and the same will used to compute merit list.
  • Selection for Junior Personal Assistant post will be made on the marks secure in the senior grade typewriting and senior grade shorthand exam.
