IOCL has job vacancy as 89 Posts of Technician Apprentice at its various operating locations in Southern states of India- Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Aspiring candidates must have completed their three-year diploma in the required disciplines as per the post that they are applying for. Candidates who have acquired their required qualification through distance learning will not be eligible to apply.
The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of a written test and personal interview. Candidates will have to qualify with minimum 40% marks to go for pre-employment medical fitness test.
There are certain eligibility conditions laid down by IOCL to appoint Technician Apprentice at its Southern Region Marketing Division. The required eligibility conditions are as follows:
Candidates must not be less than 18 years or more than 24 years at the time of applying. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates of reserved categories. Candidates of SC/ST categories will be given relaxation of up to 5 years, while OBC candidates shall have relaxation of up to 3 years.
Applicants applying through PwD category shall have relaxation of up to 10 years (for SC/ST- Up to 15 years. For OBC- Up to 13 years)
The stipend for Technician Apprenticeship is between INR 6970 to INR 7530. An additional amount of INR 2500 will be paid if 90% wages are more than INR 7500 for Technical Apprenticeship, on the basis 90% of semi-skilled wages of State or central whichever is higher.
Similarly, INR 2500 shall be paid additionally, if 70-90% wages are more than INR 6970 for Trade Apprentice (Laboratory Assistant), on the basis of 70-90% of semi-skilled wages of State or central whichever is higher.

At the time of conducting personal interview, candidates will be asked to furnish the original as well as self-attested photocopies of the documents. Following is the list of documents which must be carried to the Interview session:

The selection of the eligible candidates will be done on the basis of two phases- Written Test and Personal Interview. Candidates will have to perform such that they score minimum 40% in both the phases combinedly. There will be relaxation of up to 5% for reserved categories.
The written test will comprise of Multiple Choice Questions on relevant disciplines. The weightage of written test will be 85%, while interview session will have weightage of 15%.
Once the candidate is selected, they will be sent for Pre-employment medical test to ensure physical fitness of the applicant.
