KVPY 2020- Guidelines for Exam day and Dress code

While there is no prescribed dress code for the KVPY 2020 exam, candidates are advised to wear decent clothes while appearing. Also, they are advised to not carry certain items to the exam hall and strict actions will be taken against the candidate if any of these are found in their possession. There are also several rules and guidelines for the candidates since the exam is conducted amidst the pandemic. Lastly, this year, there will be no interview round for the exam and selections will be done based on their result in the exam and their academic prowess. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 31, 2020.

The dress code for male and female candidates are as follows:

  • For men, light coloured shirt/t-shirt and half-sleeve is recommended. The buttons should be neatly closed and should be of standard size.
  • No traditional wear like kurta, or pajama is allowed.
  • Female candidates are advised to wear full-sleeve/half sleeve kurta, tops without large buttons or brooches and must not wear any jewelry.

The following accessories are not allowed in the exam hall:

  • Stationary items like pencil or geometry box, pieces of papers, pen, calculator, scale, Pen drive, Scanner, Electric pen etc are not allowed.
  • Electronic devices for communication like mobile phones, microphone, earphone, Bluetooth devices, watches and camera are not allowed.
  • Any food item whether sealed or unsealed as well as accessories like wallets, handbags, backpacks etc. are not allowed.
  • Any kind of metallic item will not be allowed inside the exam hall.

Exam day guidelines for KVPY 2020:

  • Candidates must reach the exam hall, 1 hour earlier.
  • Beyond 9am, candidates will not be allowed into the exam hall.
  • The candidate should have the admit card along with the valid ID proof.
  • Extra photographs, admit card and ID proof are the only things that will be allowed in the exam hall.
  • Candidates can bring a transparent water bottle to the exam hall. No other type of bottle will be allowed.
  • Pens/ pencils will be provided by the authorities in the exam hall.
  • In case there is technical trouble and the exam gets delayed, the candidates must follow the instructions given by the invigilators in the hall.
