The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an ongoing nationwide fellowship programme in fundamental sciences, initiated and sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology of India, with the aim of attracting exceptionally highly motivated students to pursue fundamental science programmes and research careers in science. After completing his XII, eligible college students receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 5000 and an annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000 for a period of five years.
