IES 2018 Application Form will be available online from September 2017. Candidates who have completed their engineering can apply for IES 2018. The application process is considered to be complete only when candidates have paid the application fee after filling the application form.

  • Candidates who wish to appear for IES must apply online at the official website of UPSC.

IES (Indian Engineering Service) entrance examination is conducted every year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission). IES is alternatively known as ESE (Engineering Service Examination). Through this entrance examination, engineers are recruited in various government services or sectors of roadways, railways, energy, defence and telecommunication.


IES 2018 Application Form Dates

Candidates interested in appearing for IES 2018 must know all the important dates of the entrance examination so that they can apply for it on time. The important application dates for IES 2018 are listed in the table below:

IES 2018 Eligibility

Candidates must check if they fulfill all the eligibility conditions before applying for IES 2018. Candidates who do not possess the eligibility qualification should not fill IES 2018 application form as the form will be cancelled by the conducting authority. The eligibility criteria for IES entrance examination are listed below:

Age

  • The minimum age of candidates should be 21 years.
  • The maximum age of candidates should be 30 years.

Nationality

  • Candidates can appear in IES 2018 if they are one of the following:
  • A citizen of India
  • A subject of Bhutan
  • A citizen of Nepal
  • A Tibetan refugee
  • Someone of Indian origin who has migrated from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zaire, Malawi or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Educational Qualification

Candidates can appear in IES 2018 if they are one of the following:

  • Pssed B.Tech/B.E or passed sections A and B of Institution examinations of the Institute of Engineers in India.
  • Has a diploma/degree in engineering from a foreign college/university/institution that is recognized by the Government of India.
  • Qualified in the Graduate Membership Examination of Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers in India.
  • Passed in Part II and Part III of Associate Membership Examination of the Aeronautical Society of India.
  • Qualified in the Graduate Membership Examination of Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers in London that is held after November, 1959.

Candidates need to satisfy all the eligibility conditions for appearing in IES 2018 examination. Applicants are advised to check if they are eligible for appearing in the entrance examination before they proceed to fill the application form.


How to Fill IES 2018 Application Form?

Candidates need to follow a few steps for filling IES 2018 application form. Candidates must carefully fill all the details in the application form in order to prevent cancellation of their forms. Incomplete forms or application forms with inaccurate details will be cancelled by the conducting authority.

The steps to fill IES 2018 application form are as follows:

Step 1: Registration

  • First of all, candidates need to visit the official website of UPSC (www.upsconline.nic.in) for filling the application form.
  • Candidates will find the link “online application for various examinations of UPSC” on the home page of the website.
  • Candidates who have already registered can apply directly for the examination by clicking on the link.
  • New candidates should enter on “new users” for one time registration process of IES.
  • Candidates will be redirected to a new webpage with online application form.

Step 2: Form Filling and Uploading of Images

  • Candidates need to enter their personal details and academic details in the application form.
  • Then, candidates have to upload their scanned signature and photograph. They must ensure that the file size should not exceed 40 KB. The size of the photograph should not be less than 3KB and the size of the signature should not be less than 1KB.
  • After filling the application form, candidates should check if all the details furnished by them are accurate.
  • After checking, candidates need to click on “submit” button.
  • Candidates must take a printout of the filled application form for future use.

Step 3: Payment

  • After filling the application form, candidates must pay the application fee of 200 INR.
  • Females and candidates under SC/ST/PH categories are exempt from paying any application fee for IES 2018.
  • Candidates can make the payment through net banking/debit card/credit card.
  • Candidates can also deposit the amount of 200 INR by cash in any branch of SBI.

Candidates can correct IES 2018 application form before submitting the form and paying the application fee. Once the form is submitted on the official website, it can neither be withdrawn nor corrected. Therefore, candidates are advised to verify all the details that they have entered in the application form before they submit it.
