The Institute of Banking Personnel or IBPS has been conducting Common Written Test (CWE) for the Regional Rural Bank (RRB) since the year 2011. The CWE is conducted to recruit in the post of Officers Scale I, II and III and Office Assistants. The main aspiration for this employment is to enhance the human resource and financial development in the rural areas.

IBPS RRB CWE exam is generally divided into three levels: Preliminary, Main and Single assessment. The preliminary round of exam is conducted especially for the officers Scale I and for the Office Assistant. On the other hand, there is only one round of examination conducted for the other scales. After successfully submission of Application form IBPS RRB Admit Card will be released in official website of IBPS, www.ibps.in, 15 days before the commencement of exam. The exam will be held in the month of November and result of IBPS RRB will be out in December.

After IBPS CWT Result

  • Candidates who qualified the Common Written Test (CWT) are eligible for the verbal interview round or VIVA.
  • Once the candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the minimum marks scored the call letters are dispatched by the authority.
  • An interview is conducted only for the Scale I, II and III officers by Nodal Regional Rural Banks in collaboration with NABARD and IBPS.
  • The interview session is the final selection round for the officers of different scale, whereas, for the Office Assistants the only the preliminary and main exam is conducted.
  • The 80:20 proportions are maintained between the CWE and the interview correspondingly.

Post the interview round come the provisional allotment where the identity of the candidate is verified and then comes the final allotment which is done on the basis of the merit list. The form for the upcoming IBPS RRB 2018 will be out by the October 2018.

IBPS RRB 2018 Exam Dates

The IBPS RRB examination is conducted for the posts of Officer Scale I, II and III and Office Assistants. The examination has different categories including Preliminary, Main and Single. The Preliminary and Main is applicable for the designation of Officer Scale I and Office Assistants and single examination is organized for the rest of the scale. Candidates qualified in this round are eligible for the other rounds.

Eligibility Criteria of IBPS RRB 2018

Similar to the last serial of years the eligibility criteria of IBPS 2018 is more or less same. It has various segments on the basis of which eligibility of the candidate is determined. Below, is the detailed account of the eligibility criteria of the basis of different categories:


The candidates must be citizen of any of the following country stated below:

  • Nepal
  • Bhutan
  • India
  • Migrated from the neighboring countries like Pakistan or any South African countries like Uganda, Malawi, Kenya with the purpose settling in India.
  • An immigrant of Tibet.

Educational Qualification

The education eligibility criteria are same for all designation. Bachelor’s degrees from any recognized universities or any other equivalent in any streams are allowed sitting for the entrance but special preferences are given in certain steams. The minimum eligibility marks for the candidates is 50%.

Age criteria and relaxation

The Age terms and conditions are different for different designation. As per 01.09.2018, age of the candidate will be:

  • 18-30 years – Scale I Officer
  • 21-32 years – Scale II Officer
  • 21-40 years – Scale III Officer
  • 18-28 years – Office Assistant (Multi-tasking staff)

The relaxation is also different based on the category of the person:

How to Apply for IBPS RRB 2018?

Similar to the last couple of years the application form, for this year will also be available online. The form will be available online on the official site of IBPS under the heading CWE RRB. Candidates who wants to appear for Scale I officer and Office Assistant have to fill a single form for both Preliminary and Main entrance. Candidates can apply only for one post at a time.

Guidance regarding filling of the application form

IBPS RRB 2018 Application form is expected to be available online around the month of August to September. To prevent the cancellation of the form, candidates must fill the form very carefully and check it thoroughly post filling. The documents needed to be enclosed at the time of the submission of the registration form are the scanned copy of a passport size photograph and full signature.

Other steps involved in the whole procedure are as follows:

  1. Filling the form and fulfilling all the required criteria
  2. Uploading the required documents
  3. Revising the details and then clicking the submit tab
  4. Payment of the fees
  5. Checking the confirmation

IBPS RRB 2018 Admit Card

IBPS RRB 2018 Admit Card will be available on the official site of IBPS 15 days before the commencement of exam. Admit cards for Preliminary exam will be given around the mid- week of August 2018. On the other hand, admit cards for main and single entrance will be given around mid-week of September 2018. The exam center, date, time and venue are given in the admit cards.

  • Go to the website and click on the link “CWE RRB 2018’’
  • Enter the registration number
  • Enter the password or you can also enter your Date of Birth
  • The admit will appear on the screen ready for printing

IBPS RRB 2018 Exam Pattern

IBPS CWE RRB 2018 Exam Pattern for different posts is different. The medium of examinations is either Hindi or English. The preliminary examination is generally based on reasoning and quantitative aptitude. The single exam and the main exam will be held on the Computer, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English and Financial awareness.

IBPS RRB 2018 Result and Counselling

IBPS CWE RRB 2018 Result will be announced at their official website in the month of December 2018. To check the result, follow the steps below:

  • Enter the  Date of Birth
  • Your result is ready to download

The candidates are only eligible for receiving the call letter only if he/she qualifies the CWE round and the levels. After receiving the call letter the candidates will get the chance to attend the interview session. The call letter includes the detail of the interview center and documents required at the time of interview. Candidate will have to successfully crack the final interview round to be selected as an IBPS RRB officer.
