Candidates who qualify the medical standard test are shortlisted for the next stage of the UPSC CAPF Selection Process. The step that follows the medical standard test is the personality test or interview. The personality test for UPSC CAPF will be conducted from January 09, 2017 onwards.

Candidates are interviewed and questioned by a jury of competent and unbiased members as per the guidelines of UPSC. The jury includes a serving member of UPSC as the chairperson and the other 3-4 members are eminent and high experienced professors/psychologists/experts in their respective fields. The Interview for UPSC CAPF is majorly divided in two parts i.e. DAF (Detailed Application Form) and current affairs.

The candidates who have received a mail to appear for the personality test have to download the e-summon letter available on the official website of UPSC. Candidates have to download the letter and other attachments with it for the Personality test. No candidate will receive the e-summon letter by post.

How to Download the E-summon Letter?

E-summon letter is an important document that confirms the selection of the candidate for the Personality test or Interview for UPSC CAPF. Candidates can download it and the attachments with it for further use. It is available on the official website of UPSC. Candidates have to enter the seven digit roll number and captcha given to download the same. The steps followed to download the e-summon letter are given below:

  • Visit the official website of UPSC
  • Find the link “Download E-summon letter- Central Armed Police Forces (ACs) Examination 2016”
  • Enter the seven digit roll number and captcha code in the blank fields

  • Click on Next to open the e-summon letter and then click on ‘Download’

UPSC CAPF Interview Preparation

The interview is divided in two parts i.e. questions based on the DAF (Detailed Application Form) and the next part is anything under the sun. The questions from DAF include any question that relates to the information mentioned on the form. Be careful in answering the questions asked as one answer may lead to many follow up questions. Candidate must be well dressed and confident while answering the questions asked.

The interview generally begins with the introduction so that the candidate is comfortable and bring back the confidence if they are nervous. The personality test is done to test the personality of the candidate and not the theoretical knowledge of the candidate. Few introductory questions asked in the UPSC CAPF  2017 Interview are given below:

  • Tell us something about yourself?
  • Tell us about your hometown?
  • Why do you want to join CAPF?
  • Which is your preference of service?

Note: Make sure that the answers to these questions are true, authentic and genuine.

Questions based on candidates’ academic qualification are also asked during DAF. Few of which are given below:

  • Why did you choose the particular course for your graduation/post-graduation?
  • How will you use your academic knowledge to benefit CAPF?

Note: Candidate will be asked few technical questions based on the subjects of the pursued program.

Hobbies define the personality of a person perfectly. Keep complete in-depth knowledge of your hobbies. Here are few questions based on the hobbies of a person:

  • What are the benefits of your hobby?
  • What are your daily activities related to your hobbies
  • What is the relation of your hobby with historical and geographic perspective?

There are few questions based on socio-economic background, few of which are enlisted below:

  • Tell us about the history and geography of your birth place?
  • What is unique about your place and its cultural importance?
  • Throw some light on the tourism of the place you are from?
  • Tell us something about social problems/ issues related to development in the place you are from?
