The most prominent Public Sector Bank, the State Bank of India (SBI) will announce the final result of the SBI Probationary Officer (PO) Exam 2016 on September 30, 2016 (Friday). The SBI PO Result 2016 will be published on the official website of SBI. The SBI PO was conducted on July 31, 2016. The exam was computer based. The SBI PO Result for SBI PO Mains were declared on the official website of SBI post the SBI PO 2016 Mains Exams.
All the Successful candidates clearing the Preliminary and Mains level of SBI PO were invited for the next round of SBI PO Selection Process that involved Group Discussion followed by a Personal Interview Round. Approximately 44,000 candidates passed the SBI PO Prelims 2016 and were selected for the SBI PO Mains 2016.
The recruitment of Probationary Officers in SBI began in May this year. The SBI PO Applications began from May 4, 2016 and ended on May 24, 2016.

This is the first step towards landing a job at SBI as a Probationary Officer. The SBI PO Prelims or preliminary exam which is essentially the first phase of the exam were held on various dates. The SBI PO Prelims were held on 4 days - July 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2016. An estimated number of students who sat for the Prelims is close to 15 – 18 lakhs! The SBI PO Prelims Results were announced on July 17, 2016. The candidates who qualify the SBI PO Prelims and meet the necessary SBI PO Prelims Cutoff qualify to appear for the next test, the SBI PO Mains.
Aiming for the Upcoming SBI PO Exam, Check SBI PO Eligibility
The second step in the SBI PO Recruitment process for the position of Probationary Officer is, SBI PO Mains. Close to 44,000 candidates cleared the Prelims and were deemed qualified for the second phase, SBI PO Mains Exam. The SBI PO Main Exam was conducted on July 31, 2016. The SBI PO Exam Pattern has been changed with a restriction on the time limit in each of the two sections. It is an Objective Test consisting of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 200 marks. The second section is a Descriptive Test for 50 marks. The SBI PO Result was announced on the official website on August 19, 2016.
This is the last and final round in the recruitment process. This round judges the personality and overall aptitude of the selected candidates. The next round of Selection Process of SBI PO consists of two levels, Group Discussion & Personal Interview. The GD is held in groups of 10-15 candidates each. The topics for discussion are usually based on General Awareness and the rules are well explained prior to the discussion.
The interview of each candidate is taken individually. The format of the interview consists of a panel wherein number of interviewers take the interview of the candidate. One must keep in mind that interviews are taken to observe the confidence and Aptitude of the candidates required as per the job profile. Make sure to prepare well. The interview usually lasts for 10-15 minutes. The interviews were conducted on September 1, 2016.

The SBI PO Final Merit list is prepared carefully giving weightage to both the exam and the interview round. The final selection of the candidates will depend on the score they obtain in the SBI PO Mains Examination 2016 along with weight provided to Group Discussion and Interview of the candidate.
Candidates are shortlisted only if they successfully clear the last 2 phases of the SBI PO selection process i.e. SBI PO Mains Examination and Group Discussion & Interview Round.
