The SBI PO 2020 Prelims and Mains have been conducted. As per the latest news, the interview dates are still to be declared. The Mains exam for SBI PO 2020 was conducted on January 29, 2021 and the result was released on March 16, 2021. The SBI PO exam has three stages- the Prelims, Mains and the interview round. In order to ace the exam, you must study the exam pattern, cut-off, and results of the previous years’ so that a smart strategy can be imbibed.

SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern

  • SBI PO Mains examination has objective tests of 200 marks and descriptive tests of 50 marks.
  • Both the parts of the Mains tests are conducted through online mode.
  • Candidates had to answer the descriptive test by typing on the computer. The test was administered immediately after the completion of the objective test.
  • As per the response shared by the students, questions which were asked in the exam were having a Difficult Level and were so hard to attempt.

The exam was conducted in three phases:

  • Phase I: Preliminary Exam is of 100 Marks
  • Phase II: Mains Exam (Part I) is of 200 Marks
  • Phase II: Mains Exam (Part II) is of 50 Marks
  • Phase III: Group Discussion/Exercise Interview is also of 50 Marks

The Bank PO exams have NEGATIVE marking and hence 0.25 marks are deducted against every wrong answer. The SBI Preliminary Exam is only qualifying and hence marks obtained in this exam are not added in the merit list. The candidates have to pass both the exams.

  • One should know the SBI PO syllabus and exam patterns thoroughly.
  • Check the previous year question papers, and practice them as questions are often repeated.
  • Brush up your basic mathematical and reasoning skills.
  • Use short videos and tutorials for revising every topic.
  • One should build a section-wise strategy to attempt the exam.
  • Work and practice on your weak areas by dedicating more time to them.
  • One must read newspapers on a daily basis to increase their general knowledge.
