SBI (State Bank of India) has recently declared the final SBI PO Result on September 30, 2016 around 5 pm. For the candidates who have been eagerly waiting for the results of SBI PO examination, can now check the same by visiting the SBI Official Website.

We inform all the successfully qualified candidates that the final letters will be uploaded on the Official website of SBI shortly as per the SBI PO Interview. So, we suggest all the candidates to keep a regular check on the same to keep themselves updated.

SBI PO is a national level exam which is conducted for recruiting of PO (Probationary Officers) in SBI and its subsidiary branches. SBI PO Exam is conducted in three Phases: Prelims (Phase 1) which was held on July 2, 3, 9 and July 10, 2016; Mains (Phase 2) which was held on July 31, 2016 and GDPI (Phase 3) which commenced from September 1, 2016. The SBI PO Registration commenced from May 4, 2016 and ended on May 24, 2016.

How to check the SBI PO Results?

As the result for the SBI PO for recruitment has been released on September 30, 2016. Most of the candidates are not aware about how they should go about checking their SBI PO Results. Hence, here we are to help all the candidates having jumpy nerves, they can go through the steps mentioned below to check their results out:

  • Go to the official website
  •  Click on the link ‘Careers’
  • Look up for the latest announcements section
  • Click on the link for ‘Final result’ or on the SBI PO Exam 2016 Result Link.
  • Then, the candidates are required to enter the essential details to access their SBI PO Result.
  • The results list will be displayed on the screen

Then you are required to save the result for further reference.

How is the SBI PO Selection Process conducted?

For all the candidates who aspire to work as a PO in any State Bank of India are required to go through the SBI PO Exam which involves 3 phases. The 3 phases are: SBI Prelims, SBI Mains and SBI GDPI (Group Discussion and Personal Interview).

The candidates who wish to give the SBI PO exam in the coming year should have an idea about the SBI PO Selection Process. One can go through the following article to know more about the same:

Phase 1: Preliminary Exam

This is the first section in the SBI PO Exam and is considered to be a simpler one as compared to the Mains Exam.  

  • Mode of SBI PO Prelims Exam: Online
  • Time Duration of SBI PO Prelims Exam: 1 Hour (60 minutes)
  • Sections in SBI PO Prelims Exam: 3 Sections namely English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.
  • Type of Questions in SBI PO Prelims Exam: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
  • Total no. of Questions in the SBI PO Prelims Exam: 100 MCQs
  • Mode of Answering of SBI PO Questions: English and Hindi except the English Language paper.
  • Marks per section of SBI PO Prelims Exam: Quantitative Aptitude will be of 35 marks; Logical Reasoning will be of 35 marks and English Language will be of 30 marks respectively.

For the year 2016, SBI PO was held on July 2, 3, 9 and 10. It was conducted for 4 days because the participation level for the SBI PO exam was very high.

Phase 2: Mains Exam

This is the second section in the SBI PO exam. The overall difficulty level in this section is higher than the Preliminary Exam for very obvious reasons. This section is divided into 2 parts: Objective Test and Descriptive Test.

  • Mode of SBI PO Mains Exam: Online
  • Time Duration of SBI PO Mains Exam: 3 Hours (180 minutes) for Objective Test and 30 minutes for Descriptive Test.
  • Sections in SBI PO Mains Exam: 4 sections in the Objective Test Namely Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness and English Language; Descriptive Test consisting of Letter Writing and Essay Writing.
  • Type of Questions in SBI PO Mains Exam: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for Objective test.
  • Total no. of Questions in the SBI PO Mains Exam: 200 Questions and the total marks awarded in the exam is 200 and 50 marks for Descriptive test.
  • Mode of Answering of SBI PO Questions: English and Hindi except the English Language paper.
  • Marks per section of SBI PO Mains Exam: Objective Test which will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. 1 mark will be rewarded to each correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. For Descriptive Test, it will be of 50 Marks.

Note: It is important for the candidate to note that answer sheet of descriptive test will be checked for those candidates who qualify in the Objective Test. Those who qualify in the SBI PO Mains examination will be going for the final stage of Group Discussion and Interview session.

It is mandatory for all the aspirants to secure minimum qualifying marks in each section of SBI PO Main. apart from clearing the minimum cutoff for the overall exam to be shortlisted for the SBI PO Interview. The SBI PO Cutoff for the interview would be decided and candidates would be shortlisted on the basis of vacancies available in the SBI PO 2016.

Phase 3: Group Discussion and Interview (GD & PI) 

Candidates will be called for group discussion after they qualify through the cut off set by bank with regards to the SBI PO Mains examination 2016. After going through the group discussion session, candidates will be called for personal interview which will test personality of the candidate along with the qualifications and other qualities.

The candidates who will get selected in the Phase 2 will then have to go through the GDPI Phase. In this the candidates are required to carry Important Documents at the time of their Interview. If at all a candidate fails to carry any of the document, then he/she might not be able to sit for the same. We suggest you to double check the all the documents before the SBI PO Interview round.

Note: We inform you that the final merit list will be prepared after the board conducts all the interviews and candidates will be recruited after their documents have been successfully verified.
