State Bank Of India will release notification for recruitment of Probationary Officers at their official website i.e. The last date to apply is March 06, 2018. The Preliminary Round of the three tier exam will be conducted on multiple dates in the month of April and May, 2018.

  • SBI PO Application Form is expected to be available from February 07, 2018. 
  • Candidates qualifying in the preliminary exam will be shortlisted for the Mains exam.
  • The qualified candidates of Mains exam will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
  • The Result of SBI PO (Preliminary) 2018 will be announced on May 17, 2018.

SBI PO is a national level online test. It is three stage recruitment exam namely Prelims, Mains and Interview. Qualified candidates in all stages are recruited for the posts.

Vacancy Details

With a total of 2313 vacancies overall, State Bank of India invites applications from general candidates for 347, ST Candidates for 350 vacancies and OBC candidates for 606 vacancies. A part of total vacancies are reserved for candidates with physical disability. Separate cutoff and merit list are generated for candidates from each category.

SBI PO 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must check the eligibility before applying for SBI PO 2018. The basic eligibility is listed below. Check the detailed SBI PO Eligibility Criteria.

  • Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such by the Central Government.
  • Age Limit: Not below 21 years and not above 30 years as on 01.04.2018 i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1988 and not later than 01.04.1997 (both days inclusive).
  • Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 01.07.2018
  • Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 01.07.2018.
  • Candidates possessing qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

Relaxation Offered in SBI PO 2018

The Bank offers relaxation to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non Creamy Layer), PwD candidates, Ex Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers and others as mentioned in the table below.

How To Apply?

The Application and Registration process of SBI PO is to be carried out at their official website i.e. No Other mode of application will be accepted by State Bank Of India.

The Application Fee for General candidates is INR 600 and Application Fee for candidates claiming reserved categories is INR 100. Candidates can follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the exam.

  • Go to website i.e.
  • Click on Careers
  • You will be redirected to the Career’s section of State Bank Of India.
  • On the listing page, click on Probationary Officers Recruitment.
  • From the drop down, click on Apply Online.
  • Enter all the required details
  • Attach your photograph and Signature.
  • Pay the Application Fee and save the complete application form

Post successful registration, SBI sends a confirmation email to the registered email ID and SMS to the registered phone number.

Payment of Fees

The Application Fee of INR 600 for General Candidates and INR 100 for SC/ST/OBC candidates can be paid through debit card/ credit card/ Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. The transaction charges for online payment (if any) will be borne by the candidates.

Guidelines for the Test Day

Candidates must follow the mentioned guidelines for the test day to make the conduct of examination smooth. They should not furnish any false, tampered/ fabricated particulars and they should not suppress any material information while filling up the application form.

  • The Bank would be analyzing the responses of a candidate with other appeared candidates to detect patterns of similarity.  
  • On the basis of such an analysis, if it is found that the responses have been shared and scores obtained are not genuine / valid, the Bank reserves the right to cancel his/her candidature.
  • Mobile phones, pagers or any other communication devices are not allowed inside the premises where the examination/interview is being conducted. Any infringement of these instructions shall entail cancellation of candidature and disciplinary action including ban from future examinations.
  • Candidates are advised not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/ pagers to the venue of the examination/interview.
  • Applicants are not permitted to use or have in possession of calculators in examination premises.
