The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the Stenographer grade 'C' and 'D' exam, which was originally scheduled for March 29 to March 31. The new exam dates will be announced later, according to an official notification from the Commission. Candidates should keep an eye on the official website for any updates or stay updated with us.

SSC Stenographer Admit Card 2021

The release of the SSC Stenographer Admit Card has also been delayed. SSC Steno Admit Cards will now be available on the website of the concerned Regional/ Sub-Regional Office 3-7 days prior to the new exam date. At the center, candidates must carry a printout of their admit card as well as identification.

SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2021

SSC Stenographer Exam will be conducted in 2 different stages. The first level is the Grade C and D written exam that consists of MCQs and is conducted online. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. An exam to test your shorthand skill sets in different domains will follow this exam.

Shorthand Skill Test

Both computers and paper are used in the SSC Stenographer Skill Test. Depending on the candidate's marks, a passage of 800 or 1000 words per minute will be dictated for Group D and C, respectively.

  • 800 words @ 80 words per minute for Stenographer Group ‘D' (w.p.m).
  • 1000 words at 100 words per minute for Stenographer Group ‘C' (w.p.m).

After that, in 50 minutes for Grade D and 40 minutes for Grade C, the shorthand passage must be transcribed on a computer.
