DMRC Recruitment conducts national level offline test every year. It is an online examination with multiple choice questions divided in four sections. It includes topics aptitude, general awareness, reasoning and English. The exam is held on December 04, 2016 for the post of station controller/ Train operator.

In this section, candidate need to focus on improving English language. They have to increase vocabulary with the help of books and dictionary. Read newspaper, novels and magazines regularly. There are certain things that can help the candidate such as listening English news channels, conversation with friends etc. They need to Buy a good grammar book and practice all the exercises. Also, keep practicing comprehension, jumble sentences etc. on daily basis. Revise the rules of grammar like verb agreement and tenses.
This section cover the topics includes Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary based problems, Sentence correction, spotting error, jumbled sentences, synonyms, Antonyms, Active & Passive voice, sentence structure.

Logical reasoning section can be both scoring as well as time consuming for candidates. Analyze the DMRC exam pattern, find out the strongest and weakest area and the moderate one. Candidate need to focus on the topics that carry high weightage in the exam. They need to clear basic concept logically. They have to prepare for verbal and non- verbal topics like age problem, series, mirror images etc. Atleast try to solve 30 to 50 questions on every topic. If candidates are comfortable with a particular topic and type of problems, then start to improve the speed and move to next topic. The reasoning problems are logic based and there are no formulae to be used for every question.
This section cover the topics including sitting arrangement, puzzle test, syllogism, data sufficiency problem, blood relation problems, series, direction sense, ordering & ranking, problem on age calculation, arithmetical reasoning, mirror images, coding- decoding, statement assumption.

Quantitative Aptitude is the most time- consuming section in the examination. This is the most important section in DMRC exam. Candidates are required to get minimum sectional cutoff marks in each section. Without any practice, it is difficult to clear the cutoff of aptitude section.
For this section, the sectional cutoff goes quite high than other sections. Candidates need to solve the questions by tricky methods to save time in calculations. They need to focus on important topics only and attempt those questions which takes less time. Speed and selection of the questions are key factors to success in DMRC recruitment exam. It candidate stucks at any question, leave it and move forward to next question.
In this section, questions are asked from the topics including percentage, average, simple/ compound interest, profit & loss, ratio & proportions, Time & work, Time & distance, Data interpretation, Data sufficiency, simplifications, sequences & series, mensuration, quadratic Equation, number system, HCF & LCM.

General Awareness is the scoring and less time consuming section. Most of the questions DMRC exam are asked from current affairs. They need to focus on last five- months current affairs. General awareness is a vast topic and it cannot be prepared in single day preparation. They should read newspaper and magazines on daily basis to increase general knowledge. They need to focus on topics like economic/ financial news, five- year budget plan, about politicians etc.
In the General awareness section, the questions are mainly asked from National & International current affairs, Indian Geography, History of India & World, Indian polity, Indian culture & Heritage, Inventions & Discoveries, Abbreviations & Important days, Awards & Honors etc.
