DMRC announces vacancies for Director (works), apply till April 12

DMRC is looking forward to recruiting a Director (Works) for a 5-year term. In order to apply for the job, applicants have to fill & post the DMRC Application form to the GM (HR), Barakhamba Road branch of DMRC office by April 12, 2017. Minimum age to apply for the post is 45 years. Moreover, The applicant should have a Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute along with the good academic record.

The designation requires one to have at least 5 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary projects. As well as knowledge in multiple fields such as land acquisition, Interfacing with Railway related disciplines, bidding, track laying, etc. A medical examination is done by the DMRC administration to see if the candidate is fit for the post.The candidates applied for the post will be shortlisted for an interview round.

Note: Shortlisted Candidates will be eligible for reimbursement for their travel in economy class airfare or AC 2 tier railway fare.

DMRC Eligibility for Director (Works)

The recruitment for the post of Director (Work) will be on contract basis for a period of 5 years or date of superannuation.


  • The Minimum age to apply for the post is 45 years old
  • The Maximum age to apply for the post is 58 years for applicants within DMRC, and 57 for others.
  • The age of superannuation of a Director in DMRC is 62 years.

Qualification & Education

  1. The applicant should have a Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputed institute along with good academic records.
  2. Required experience in the following fields is a must:
    • Minimum of five years experience in handling multi-disciplinary engineering projects
    • Preparation tender documents, selection of Contractors and Project Management of important engineering structures such as Bridges/Tunnels from Domestic and International Vendors as a team leader.
    • knowledge of interfacing with Railway related disciplines such as Track Laying Works, Signaling, Electrification and Rolling Stock, etc.
    • Should have experience in all phases of rail-based urban transportation projects, on international bidding contracts basis
    • Experience & knowledge of complying with project related requirements of international funding institutions.
  3. Desirable Experience in underground/elevated constructions of Metro Projects.

Job Profile & Salary

The selected candidate will be responsible for the overall project planning & monitor it. From quality assurance to safety measure to traffic diversions.

The incumbent will be a member of the board of directors of DMRC and will report to the Managing director of the company.

The Salary for this designation is Rs. 75000-100000 (IDA) and other allowances/perks/privileges applicable to the Directors of Schedule ‘A’ Central PSUs.

Pay Scale

Public Sector Executive should be holding a post in the pay scale of Rs. 51300-73000 (IDA)


Should be working in the SA grade (with grade pay of Rs.10000 in Pay Band 4 of CDA grade of Rs. 37400-67000 (Pre-revised). The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be two years as on date of vacancy
