CTET or Teacher Eligibility Test is an entrance examination to recruit teachers in government schools from Class 1 to Class 8 across India.   • Child Development and Pedagogy is a common subject in both Paper I and Paper II.
  • It consists of 30 marks out of 150 marks in both papers which means it carries 20% weightage in both papers.

Child Development (Primary Stage): 15 Questions

  1. This section asks questions based on the ideologies of educational thinkers.
  2. Candidates need to study educational psychology and philosophy to do well in this section.
  3. It analyzes the candidate’s conceptual understanding and mastery over it.

Concept of Inclusive Education and Understanding Children with Special needs: 5 Questions

  1. This section assesses the teacher’s ability to cater the needs of special children and create an inclusive classroom.
  2. The applicants must display their knowledge focusing on the special efforts made for the care of special children.
  3. Majorly the questions are based on the teacher’s behavior towards special child and teacher- student’s relationship.

Learning and Pedagogy: 10 Questions

  1. Mostly, the questions are focused on the pedagogy of child behavior.
  2. Assessment of applicant understands about class dynamics and healthy classroom environment.
  3. Possible classroom situations are framed into questions and the candidates have to choose their reaction.
