CTET (Central Teaching Eligibility Test) is a national level entrance examination which is conducted to appoint skilled teachers for Primary level and Upper Primary level. Till now, CBSE used to conduct this examination but this year, it is expected that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting CTET. 

The official notification of CTET 2019 will be released soon on the official website of NTA. CTET 2019 is likely to be held on July 7, 2019. CTET was conducted twice in a year but from last year, CTET is conducted only once in a year.

Candidates who wish to do teaching jobs can apply for CTET. National Council for Teacher Education is also planning to introduce a new course named as the Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) which will replace B.Ed and D.El.Ed program from the next academic session.

CTET 2019 Important Dates

The official notification of CTET 2019 has not been released yet. Candidates can check the tentative dates of the schedule of CTET 2019 in the table given below:

CTET Eligibility Criteria 2019

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria decided by the examination authority i.e. NTA before applying for CTET 2019. The eligibility criterion of CTET is given below:

Eligibility criteria for Classes I to V (Primary Stage)

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or any other equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 50% marks or are appearing in the last semester of two year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Applicants who have passed SSC or equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 45% marks and also have passed or are appearing in the last semester of two year Diploma program in Elementary Course in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the last semester of a Bachelor of Elementary Education for the duration of 4 years.

OR

  • Candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent with an aggregate of at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the last semester of two year Diploma program in Education.

OR

  • A Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and passed or are appearing in the final semester of the two year Diploma Course in Elementary Education.

Eligibility for Elementary Level (Class VI to VIII)

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and passed or are appearing in the final semester of Diploma in Elementary Education which is of 2 year duration.

OR

  • Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with an aggregate of at least 50% marks and must have also passed or are appearing in the one year program of B.Ed.

OR

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with an aggregate of at least 45% marks and completed or are appearing in the one year program of B.Ed from a recognized university.

OR

  • Candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 50% marks and must have also completed or are appearing in the final semester of the Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

OR

  • Those students who have completed SSC or equivalent examination with an aggregate of at least 50% marks are have also completed or are appearing in the final semester of four year B.Ed./ B.Sc. Ed. Or any other equivalent program.

OR

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline from a recognised university with an aggregate of at least 50% marks and must have also completed or are appearing in B.Ed. program of 1 year duration.

How to fill CTET Application Form 2019?

Candidates who wish to pursue teaching jobs can fill CTET 2019 application form on the official website of NTA. Candidates are advised to keep a watch on NTA’s official website to get updated about the important dates related to this examination.

  • While filling the application form of CTET, candidates are required to enter their personal details, academic qualification details, address for correspondence including email id and mobile number etc. 
  • On entering all the details correctly in the application form, candidates need to upload scanned copies of their passport sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format and as per the specifications. 
  • On successfully uploading of the required documents, candidates are required to pay a requisite amount of application fee to complete the application process. 
  • After submitting the application form with correct details, a confirmation page will be generated. Candidates are advised to take a print out of the same and keep it safe for further admission procedure.  

CTET 2019 Application Fee

Candidates can pay CTET 2019 application fee either in online mode using Credit/ Debit Card/ Net Banking or in offline mode through e-challan. The application fee for CTET 2019 is provided in the table given below:

CTET 2019 Admit Card

CTET 2019 admit card will be released by NTA on its official website before the date of examination. Candidates will be able to download their admit cards only from the official website of NTA. 

CTET admit card consist of all the important information such as candidate’s name, roll number, date and venue of the entrance exam and exam day instructions etc. Candidates have to carry the CTET admit card along with a valid photo id proof to the exam centre.

Steps to download CTET admit card:

  1. Visit the official website of CTET 
  2. Enter your registration number and date of birth to login on the admit card panel. 
  3. On logging in, the CTET 2019 admit card will appear on the screen. 
  4. Candidates are required to download the same and take its print out and keep it safe.

CTET Exam Pattern 2019

Candidates must know the exam pattern of CTET 2019 well in advance in order to succeed in the entrance examination. The important information regarding CTET exam pattern is given below:

  • CTET comprises two papers for both the primary and the elementary stage.
  • There will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in the entrance exam.
  • The duration of entrance test will be 150 minutes.
  • There will be a total of 150 questions in each paper.

CTET Syllabus 2019

Candidates can refer to the official notification of CTET 2019 to check the detailed syllabus. Candidates are advised to go through the syllabus thoroughly and plan their studies accordingly.

CTET 2019 Answer Key

After conducting the entrance test, NTA will release a valid answer key of CTET 2019 on its official website.  With the help of CTET answer key, candidates will be able to estimate their score in the examination. In case of any discrepancy in the CTET answer key 2019 candidates must report the same to the examination authority within a prescribed time limit.


CTET Result 2019

The result of CTET 2019 will be released only in the online mode. NTA will release the CTET result on its official website after the conduct of examination. CTET 2019 result is likely to be released in the month of April. The result of the entrance examination will be prepared based on candidate’s performance in the entrance test.

CTET Eligibility Certificate 2019

The examination authority will also issue a CTET eligibility certificate to all the CTET qualified candidates. To get the CTET eligibility certificate, candidates need to score at least 60% marks in the CTET. The eligibility certificate of CTET will also be sent to candidates through speed post. After getting the eligibility certificate, candidates must keep it safe for future purpose.

Validity of CTET Score

The score obtained by candidates in CTET will be valid for a period of 7 years from the date of declaration of CTET result. Based on CTET Score, candidates will be able to apply for teaching jobs within 7 years. After the lapse of 7 years, candidates need to qualify CTET again.
