CTET 2018 Application Form will be available in the month of December 2017 for February session. Forms will be available for a duration of one month. Candidates wishing to attempt CTET must apply online by visiting the official website at www.ctet.nic.in.

  • CTET 2018 Application Form can be filled in 4 major steps; applying online, uploading images, paying the fee and downloading of the confirmation page.
  • Candidates are required to keep scanned copies of recent passport size photograph and signature ready before filling the form.
  • Payment of INR 600 for one paper and INR 1000 for both papers will have to be made by general/OBC category candidates.
  • Application Fee for SC/ST/PwD candidates is INR 300 for a single paper and INR 500 for both papers.
  • Fees can be paid through debit/credit card or through e-challan submitted at any Syndicate of Canara Bank.
  • Applicants can choose 3 exam centers according to their preference.
  • Confirmation Page must be printed and kept for future reference. There is no need to send the form to CBSE.

CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) is conducted by CBSE as an eligibility test for the selection of Primary Stage and Elementary Stage teachers. A 5-day window for form correction will be available for candidates. Offline form correction will not be entertained by the authority.

How to Fill CTET 2018 Application Form?

Candidates must login to www.ctet.nic.in to fill CTET 2018 Application Form. Clicking on the link ‘Apply online’ will direct candidates to an instructions page that will provide basic instructions on the application procedure. After reading the instructions carefully, candidates can click on the link ‘Proceed to Apply Online’.

STEP 1: Filling the Form

Applicants must fill in all the details asked carefully. After completing the filling part, they can click on the ‘Next’ button. There is also a ‘Reset’ button. Clicking on the ‘Reset’ button will reset all the fields on the application form. After clicking on the ‘Next’ button, candidates will be directed to a Review Page. Here candidates can check all the details provided by him/her. If they find the need to change any particular detail, they can click on the ‘back’ button. If there are no changes required, candidates can click on the ‘Final Submit’ button.

Candidates will be given a registration number. They must note down this number and keep it safe.

Step 2: Uploading of Documents

The second step in filling CTET 2018 Application Form is the uploading of the photograph and signature of candidates.

  • Candidates must upload high quality scanned images of his/her latest photograph and signature.
  • The photograph should be more than 4kb and less than 100 kb in size; dimensions should be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm.
  • The signature size should range from 1kb- 25kb. Both the image should be in jpeg format.

Step 3: Paying the Application Fee

Upon successfully uploading the scanned images of the photograph and the signature, candidates will automatically be directed to the payment page. Here candidates must either make the fee payment online or can download the e-challan. E-challan will have to be submitted at any Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank.

Step 4: Printing the Confirmation Page

Following the fee payment stage, candidates can proceed to the page where they can download the Confirmation Page. One must keep this Confirmation Page along with a copy of the e-challan or the fee receipt safely.

Details Required to Fill CTET 2018 Application Form

Candidates must have the following documents and information ready at the time of filling and completing the online procedure.

  • A high quality scanned image of candidate’s recent photograph in .jpg format.  The prescribed dimension of the photograph is 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height) and the size of the file should be in between 4kb and 100kb.
  • A high quality scanned image of candidate’s signature in .jpg format. The size of the file should be in between 1kb and 25kb.
  • Candidates must have his/her Aadhar number, credit/debit card details (in case of online payment), academic qualification details and valid email id, phone number and mailing address.

Details To be Filled in Application Form

  • Candidate’s particulars: Candidates are required to provide the details as they are present in Candidate’s 10th Secondary Board Certificate. In this section, a candidate is required to fill in the details like Candidate’s name, Mother’s name, Father’s name, Date of Birth of Candidates
  • Examination Center: In this section, candidates must give the preference of examination cities in order of priority. Candidates can give up to three preferences. They must select the examination cities from the list of available cities.
  • Languages Offered: In this section, candidates must select the languages he/she is offering for CTET. Candidates must select two languages, namely Language 1 and Language 2 (different from language 1). Also, they must select the question paper medium language for the questions on subjects other than the two languages.
  • If Differently Abled: In this section, candidates must then select if he/she is differently abled or not. If yes, candidates must select the type from; Locomotor Impaired (Ortho), Hearing & Speech Impaired and Visually Impaired (Blind)
  • Personal Details: In this section, candidates must fill in his/her unique Aadhar number. After this, candidates have to select candidate’s applicable option for; Gender, Category (General/OBC/SC/ST), Status of qualifying exam (Passed or Appearing), Employment Status, Paper applying for, If candidates have appeared in one of the last three previous CTETs
  • College Institution: In this section, candidates have to choose the institution one has earned B.Ed Degree/Diploma in Education/Elementary Education from the list of available choices. In case a candidate does not find the name of his/her institution in the list, Candidates must choose the option ‘Other’ and fill in the details. Candidates must provide percentage of marks obtained in B.Ed Degree/Diploma in Education/Elementary Education.
  • Address and Contact: In this section, applicants must provide the entire mailing address along with the PIN code for future correspondence. This must be entirely accurate since further mailings and posts will be done to this address. Candidates must then provide a valid mobile phone number and email ID.
  • Security PIN: Candidates must enter the security code as shown below the section and can then click on ‘Next’ button to be directed to the review page.

Retrieving CTET 2018 Registration Number

Candidates are given a unique registration number after completing the first stage of filling CTET 2018 Application Form. Candidates must use this registration number to log in to the payment portal. In case one misplaces or loses this registration number after noting it down, they can retrieve the registration number by visiting the official site for applying online and clicking on ‘Forgot Registration Number?’.

After filling in essential details such as candidate’s name, mother’s name, father’s name and date of birth and selecting the category and papers applied (Paper I or Paper II or both), candidates must enter the security pin shown below. Candidates will then be able to retrieve his/her registration number.

CTET 2018 Form Correction

Candidates must fill CTET 2018 Application Form carefully and try to avoid making errors while filling the form. It is advisable to cross check all the details filled in before the final submission of the form. However, in spite of all the precautions candidates take there may be errors in the filling up of details. There is scope for correcting the erroneous information provided. Candidates can log into the official portal and can make the corresponding changes in the time period specified for making these corrections.

Candidates must provide the following information to make corrections:

  • Registration number provided at the time of applying online,
  • Date of birth,
  • CTET application form fee and
  • A security pin shown in the portal for making the changes.

The time period, wherein the online corrections are accepted, will be mentioned in the official CTET 2018 information bulletin along with the schedule of the examination. Candidates must make sure that they submit all the corrections within the stipulated time period. Any attempts to change the wrong details after the given time period will be unsuccessful.

One important point to note in this regard is that the corrections have to be made online only. Candidates cannot attempt to change any details in offline method i.e., candidates are not supposed to send any fax or post to CTET office mentioning the corrections as these will not be considered. Once corrections are made, download the modified and revised confirmation page. The confirmation page bearing the old information before corrections will no longer be valid.
