CBSE successfully conducted CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) on September 18, 2016, in two shifts Paper -1 and Paper -2. Paper- 2 was held from 09:30 to 12:00 while Paper 1 was held from 2:00 to 4:30, both the paper was of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Both the papers were of 150 marks each. All the candidates aspiring to serve as a teacher in various government schools across India are required to sit for the CTET. Examination analysis of both the papers is given below separately.

CTET 2016 Exam Pattern

The CTET was successfully conducted in the month of September 2016. The CTET Exam Pattern for both Paper-1 and Paper -2 was same. Each contained 150 questions and duration for the paper was 2 hours and 30 minutes. All the questions were Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with no negative marking. The pattern and content of questions are given below:

Exam Analysis of CTET Paper -1

Paper -1 of CBSE CTET was successfully conducted on September 18, 2016, from 2:00 to 4:30. The Paper consisted of 150 MCQs for the total of 150 marks, Questions were mostly Easy to Moderate to solve. All the aspiring candidates can go through the analysis of the exam, this will help them to get an idea about the same. Hence, the candidates who will be filling in the CTET Online Form for the upcoming CTET 2017 session will be aware about how they should be preparing for the exam.

Detailed Analysis of CTET Paper -1

For a better understanding, the candidates can go through the following article to know about the respective sections in CTET. This will help the candidates who wish to become teachers through CTET, have an idea about the sections in the exam.

  1. Child Development & Pedagogy

This section contained 30 MCQs. The level of questions asked in the section was moderate. This section covered questions from Child Development (Primary School Child), Concept of Inclusive education and Learning and Pedagogy.

2. English Language

This section contained 30 MCQs. The questions were majourly from the three topics: - Reading comprehension, Reading poem and Pedagogy questions. The level of questions asked in the section was moderate.

3. Hindi Language

This section also contained 30 MCQs. Distribution of questions was same as the English Language: - Reading comprehension, Reading poem and Pedagogy questions. The level of ques
tions asked in the section was easy to moderate.

4. Mathematics

Mathematics contained 30 MCQs questions from Geometry, Algebra, Number System and Pedagogy. The Level of Question was moderate.

5. Environmental Studies

Environmental Studies consisted of 30 MCQs from topics Environment basics, Water & Food, Family & Friends, Travels and Pedagogy. The level of questions was Easy to Moderate.

Exam Analysis of Paper -2

Paper -2 of CTET was conducted on the same day i.e. September 18, 2016 but from 09:30 to 12:00. This Paper again consisted of 150 MCQs for the total of 150 marks, level of difficulty of paper was moderate to tough.

Detailed Analysis of CTET Paper -2

It is important for all the aspirant to have proper knowledge about the topics that will be covered under the CTET Paper- 2 exam. Hence, mentioned below are the sections that came in the exam of CTET.

1.Child Development & Pedagogy

This topic is the most crucial one, the aspirants should have a thorough understanding about how to handle a situation. Also, they should know the ways in which they should make the students socialize in a healthy way. Hence, this section is held to check the same.

This section contained 30 MCQs. The level of questions asked in the section was moderate to easy. This section covered questions from Child Development (Primary School) -12 to 15 questions, Concept of Inclusive education - 4 to 6 questions, and Learning and Pedagogy - 9 to 12 questions.

2. Language I

Language I contained 30 MCQs, level of questions were moderate to tough. This section covered questions from Reading comprehension - (9 questions), Reading poem – (6 questions), and Pedagogy questions - (15 questions)

3. Language II

Language I contained 30 MCQs, level of questions were moderate. This section covered questions from Reading comprehension - (9 questions), Reading poem - (6 questions), and Pedagogy (questions - 15 questions)

4. Mathematics & Science

Mathematics & Science contained 60 questions (30 MCQs each). The level of questions was Moderate. Distribution of questions were as follows :-

a) Mathematics:- Geometry - 5 to 6 questions, Algebra - 4 to 5 questions, Number System - 5 to 10 questions, Pedagogy questions - 8 to10 questions and Other question - 4 to 6 questions.

b) Science:- Food - 5 questions, Materials - 4 questions, The World of the Living - 3 questions, Moving Things People and Ideas - 3 questions, Natural Phenomena - 2 questions, Natural Resources - 5 questions and Pedagogical questions - 8 questions.

5. Social Studies/Social Science

Social Studies/Social Science contained 60 MCQs. The level of questions was Easy. Distribution of questions were as follows History- (14 – 16 questions), Geography – (10 – 12 questions), and Social and Political Life - (12 – 15 questions), Pedagogical issues related to Social Science - (12 – 16 questions), and other question - (5 – 6 questions).

For the candidates who gave CTET 2016 are informed that the CTET  Answer Key and to challenge the answers window was closed on October 19, 2016. Now, the CTET Result are awaited. The results for CTET are expected to be released in the second week of November. Therefore, we suggest all the eagerly waiting candidates to keep a regular check on the Official Website of CTET.
