Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the latest notification for the recruitment of various Multi-tasking non-technical posts. SSC conducts a recruitment exam for Multi-Tasking Staff for various government departments and offices.

  1. SSC has tentatively scheduled SSC MTS 2020 Paper 1 from September 26 to November 13, 2020.
  2. SSC has tentatively scheduled SSC MTS 2020 Paper 2 on March 1, 2021.
  3. Most of the 10th (matriculation) passed students appear for the SSC MTS exam. The posts included in MTS recruitment fall in Group ‘C’ non-gazetted and non-ministerial category.
  4. Candidates who are recruited as MTS can be posted at Central government offices and departments across the country. 

SSC MTS Job Profile

Number of candidates who apply for MTS recruitment keeps increasing every year, many don't know about the job profile of MTS cadre employees. Given below is a list of job profile that come under SSC MTS 2020 recruitment.

  1. Physical maintenance of records/ files of the section
  2. General cleanliness & upkeep of the section/ unit
  3. Carrying of files & other papers within the building
  4. Photocopying, sending of FAX etc.
  5. Other non-clerical work in the section/ unit
  6. Assisting in routine office work like diary, dispatch etc., including on computer
  7. Delivering of dak (outside the building)
  8. Watch & ward duties
  9. Opening & closing of rooms
  10. Cleaning of rooms
  11. Dusting of furniture etc.
  12. Cleaning of building, fixtures etc.
  13. Work related to his ITI qualifications, if it exists
  14. Driving of vehicles, if in possession of valid driving license

SSC MTS 2020 Vacancy

SSC did not release the number of vacancies available in its official notification. As per 2020, a total of 10674 vacancies were declared to be filled through SSC MTS Exam. The number of vacancies is expected to be more from the previous year.

SSC MTS Salary After 7th Pay Commission

SSC MTS Salary Structure is based on the effect of 7th Pay Commission on the central government departments. The salary structure comprises of many aspects such as basic pay, DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rental Allowance), TA (Traveling Allowance) and dearness allowance on travelling allowance etc. In addition, there are contributions for National Pension Scheme, CGHS (Central Government Health Scheme), CGEGIS (Central Government Employees General Insurance Scheme) and deductions.

It should be noted that SSC MTS pay scale and SSC MTS allowances vary amongst various posts in different cities or locations. SSC categorizes SSC MTS salary structure on the basis of the type of city or location where the personnel are posted. There are 3 categories of cities- X, Y and Z.

7th Pay Commission has impacted the salary structure is somewhat a positive way. The in-hand salary is around INR 20, 000 per month. Moreover, there are provisions of the pension scheme, Central Government Health Scheme and other such benefits which is a beneficial point.
