The Registration Process of NDA & NA (I) 2017 starts today. Candidates can apply for the written exam at upsconline.nic.in. The last date to apply for NDA 2017 is Feb 10, 2017. All the application and related activities are to be carried out at Indian army Official website. The NDA 2017 Exam will be conducted on April 23, 2017. Admit Card for the exam will be released at the website on February 17, 2017.

UPSC conducts NDA twice every year to recruit candidates for undergraduate programmes at National Defence Academy, Pune followed by one year training at Indian Military Academy and other Training Organisations before finally getting recruited as officer in the wings of esteemed Indian Armed Forces.

How To Apply?

  • Go to upsconline.nic.in
  • Click on ‘Application for upcoming exam’
  • Click on Part 1 Registration
  • Read all the instructions and click submit
  • Pay the Application and proceed to Part 2 Registration

Submit all the required documents and obtain your application confirmation letter

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be citizen of India/Bhutan/Nepal/Tibetan Refugee/Person Of India Origin
  • Only unmarried candidates born after January 02, 1988 but not later than January 01, 2001 can apply for UPSC NDA 2017.
  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 before joining the Indian Armed Forces.

Those applicants who are currently enrolled in Class 12 are also eligible to apply for the same.

NDA Form Application Fee

  • Candidates from General and OBC categories have to pay Rs.100/-
  • Candidates from SC/ST Category and wards of NCOs/JCOs/ORs are exempted from the fee.
  • The application fee payment can be done via cash payment in any branch of SBI Bank or through net banking, visa/master/debit card.


All the successful candidates of NDA Written Exam will be called for Interview Process at Service Selection Boards, SSB. Candidates will have to undergo 5 days selection process where they will be tested for various qualities considered mandatory for an Officer to possess.

The NDA SSB will comprise the following stages

  • Screening Round (Picture Perception Description Test +Group Discussion)
  • Psychological Test
  • Ground Task
  • Interview
  • Conference
