According to the selection criteria of IBPS PO Exam, the candidates have to clear 2 phases- Prelim and Mains. The candidates who qualify the prelims round, are only eligible to appear for the IBPS PO Mains exam. Lastly, after declaration of IBPS PO Main result, the shortlisted candidates will be called for interview rounds.

IBPS PO (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Probationary Officer exam) is conducted for selection of Probationary Officer/Management Trainee in various participating public sector banks. IBPS Preliminary Examination is scheduled to take place on three dates i.e. October 13th , October 14th , October 20th and October 21st  2018.

The candidates are shortlisted for the vacant position in the bank depending upon their performances in pre, mains and interview. IBPS PO Selection Process is divided into three stage process which are:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main examination

IBPS PO Main Examination

Candidates who are shortlisted for the main examination have to appear for the same on November 20, 2016. The exam carries 200 marks, which comprises of 5 sections, namely (English, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge). The corrected scores obtained by each of the candidates in different sessions (if held) will be normalized using the equi-percentile method. Scores up to two decimal points shall be taken for the purpose of calculations. The candidates are shortlisted for interview by considering the scores obtained in main examination.

IBPS PO Interview

Candidates who clears main examination of IBPS PO stands eligible to appear for an interview. To clear IBPS Interview, the minimum marks required is 40% for general category and 35% for reserved category candidates. The basis of selection is 80:20 ratio of Main: Interview. After the conduction of personal interview, candidates who get selected in the interview are further shortlisted for the provisional allotment process and post a combined score is generated which comprises of total marks obtained in main examination and interview.

Documents required for IBPS PO Interview

Eligible candidates are advised to carry with them certain documents for verification at the time of Personal interview. The candidates are required to carry original documents and self-attested photocopies. If a candidate fails to produce following documents at the time of interview, then it can lead to the cancellation and debarment of the eligible candidates. Following is the list of documents:

  • Printout of Valid Interview Call Letter
  • Proof of Date of Birth (Certificate of Birth issued by the Competent Municipal Authorities or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with DOB)
  • Printout of System generated Online application form
  • Photo Identity Proof accepted by IBPS (Aadhaar Card, Driving License, etc.)
  • Mark Sheets and Certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification (Candidates are required to submit proper document obtained from Board/University indicating that the result is declared on or before August 13, 2016.)
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST/OBC category candidates issued by competent authority as designated by Govt. of India (Candidates falling under creamy layer or their name not appearing in the Central List of OBCs can apply under General category only)
  • Disability certificate issued by the District Medical Board in case of PwD candidates. (Details of Scribe in the prescribed format for candidates who have used the services of scribe during CWE)
  • Ex-Servicemen are required to produce a copy of the Service or Discharge book besides pension payment order and documentary proof of rank previously / currently held at the time of interview (For candidates presently serving in the defence forces, a certificate is required to be submitted issued from a competent authority stating that they are to be relieved from their service on or before August 12, 2017.
  • Those serving in Government / quasi govt. offices/ Public Sector Undertakings (including Nationalized Banks and Financial Institutions) must procure a “No objection Certificate” from their current employer and submitted at the time of interview (The NOC should not be issued in favor of any particular organization or else the candidate would not be allowed to participate in the interview or subsequent rounds
  • Certificate of Experience
  • Citizens/Subjects of other countries except India /PIOs are required to submit a certificate of eligibility issued by Govt. of India
  • Candidates seeking age relaxation under the category of Original Jammu & Kashmir residents during the insurgency period from January 01, 1980 to Dec. 31, 1989, are require to submit a domicile certificate issued by District Jurisdiction or any authorized body of Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir during the interview process. The certificate must indicated the place where the candidate had originally resided from the period January 01, 1980 to Dec. 31, 1989
  • Candidates seeking age relaxation under the category of victims of 1984 Riots must furnish a certificate issued by District Magistrate stating that the candidate is eligible to receive relief in terms of the Rehabilitation Package for 1984 Riot Affected Persons approved by the Government and communicated vide Ministry of Finance, Dept. of Financial Services communication No.F.No.9/21/2006-IR dated 27.07.2007
