IBPS PO 2018 Result will be released separately for 3 stages of the exam i.e., Preliminary exam, Main exam and Interview. Candidates interested in serving as a Probationary Officer (PO) in various Public Sector Banks can apply for the IBPS recruitment exam.
Candidate will be able to access their IBPS PO 2018 result in the online mode only. They can check their result on the official website of IBPS i.e., www.ibps.in.
Exam Dates for IBPS PO 2018 Prelims have been announced- October 13, 14, 20 and 21, 2018. The Result for Prelims will be out in the 1st week of November 2018. Candidate who qualify the Prelims need to appear for the IBPS Main exam which is scheduled for November 18, 2018. The result for the main exam will be declared in the 1st week of December 2018.
After clearing both prelims and mains exam if a candidate crosses the cutoff marks decided by the conducting authority, they will be eligible to feature in the Merit List for IBPS PO. The aspirants will have to appear for the Interview Process which is likely to be held in February 2019.

As IBPS exam conducts in 3 stages -Prelims, Mains and Interview process, the IBPS PO Admit Card and Results for all the three stages will be declared seperately. Process to check result for all the processes are mentioned below.
The first stage of IBPS PO exam for the Recruitment of Probationary Officer is known as IBPS PO Preliminary Exam 2018. This stage consists of 3 sections - Aptitude, Reasoning and English. The total marks allotted for IBPS PO Preliminary is 100 marks. There will be Negative marking of 1/4th for each incorrect response.
To get qualified for IBPS PO 2018 Main exam, candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks in all three sections and the total qualifying marks in IBPS PO Prelim exam.
Results for Preliminary exam will be declared by IBPS with cutoff list. Candidates who qualifies the exam will be eligible for the Mains exam. Candidate must know that the marks scored at this stage will not be considered in final merit as it is a qualifying exam only. The final merit list will be based on the Mains exam and Interview.
IBPS PO Mains 2018 is the 2nd stage for the recruitment process for the post of probationary officer. This stage consists of five sections - Aptitude, Reasoning, English, Computer Proficiency and general awareness. The total marks allotted for this section is 200 consisting 200 questions. There will be negative marking of 1/4th for each incorrect response. As per the changes in IBPS PO Mains, candidates need to qualify each section of the IBPS PO mains and also a minimum qualifying mark in total to get shortlisted for the interview process.

As per the vacancies & the level of difficulty of questions, cut offs are determined and eligible candidate with qualifying marks will be shortlisted for the interview process. Marks gained in Mains exam will not be disclosed to candidates before the Interview process.

The corrected scores obtained by the candidates in each of the sessions will be normalized using equi-percentile method. Corrected score is calculated by the number of correct answers given by candidate with a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. So if a candidate scores 30 correct answers and 8 wrong answers, then the total score of the candidate will be 28 ( 30 - 2 ).
IBPS PO exam is held in different states, multiple venues, morning/evening shifts. Each of the shifts having different set of question paper online, although the exam pattern and syllabus is same. Since the question papers are different, the level of question paper varies. Therefore, it is unfair for the candidates to judge them on different parameters as there is no equality in papers for every candidates.
Due to variation in difficulty level, IBPS normalize the score to take care the difference in level of questions. No candidates should feel a loss in attempting a session which had a tougher set of paper. By using equi-percentile method IBPS makes sure no biasing takes place between candidates.
IBPS PO 2018 Exam will be conducted in morning and evening shifts on the pre-decided dates. IBPS PO 2018 Answer Key will be available on the official website of IBPS i.e,, www.ibps.in. The answer key will be published in 4 different sets- Set A, Set B, Set C, and Set D. After the completion of IBPS PO 2018, candidates can check the answer key on the official website.
The cut off is the minimum marks that applicants will have to score in order to qualify the exam. The final merit list will be based upon the marks scored in IBPS PO Main exam and the Interview. To get shortlisted for the Interview process, candidates need to qualify the Main exam.
Candidates must note that there is sectional cutoff marks and additional cutoff marks in both Prelims and Mains exam. The cutoff marks will depend on various factors such as number of applicants, difficulty level of exam, number of vacancies available etc.
Candidates who have qualified the IBPS PO Mains exam will be shortlisted for the final of the recruitment process i.e., IBPS PO Interview. The total marks for the interview is 100. Candidate should score at least 40% marks in the Interview to get selected for the post of Probationary officer. The weightage ratio of Mains exam and Interview is 80:20 respectively. The final selection of the candidates will be on the basis of merit list which includes performance of candidate in mains exam and interview. Candidates who score higher marks in Mains will have better chances to get selected for the provisional allotment process.
