The CDS II exam notification has been declared on August 5, 2020 and there are 344 vacancies in total. Eligible candidates can apply for the same from the UPSC website. In case the candidates does not fulfill all the eligibility criteria, their application will be cancelled. The eligibility required for both male and female aspirants have been listed here for your reference so that you can determine whether you fit into the requirements for the exam. The last date to fill up the form is August 25, 2020. The exam will be conducted in November 8, 2020. Check the CDS application form here.

CDS II 2020- Education and physical standard highlights

The following are few important highlights of the education qualification and physical standards required for applying for CDS II. Also check out CDS eligibility for more details.

  • Permanent tattoos in any visible area will lead to disqualification. Tattoos on the inner side of the elbow to wrist, and dorsal side of the palm is allowed.
  • Underdeveloped bones or joint functions will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
  • Previous history of mental breakdowns will also impact the candidature.
  • Final year candidates who do not have any backlogs are also eligible to apply.
  • In case any candidate is suspended from holding any type of commission in the defence services for any reason will also not be eligible for the exam.
  • Candidates who have applied for IAF but failed to learn flying during the training period will automatically be absorbed into the ground duty, provided there is available vacancy.

The rules related to eligibility usually remain static except for the birth date bracket which should be carefully studied before applying.
