November 25, 2020: National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released a notification regarding the postponement of the CSIR UGC NET 2020 Exam. The said exam was supposed to be held tomorrow, i.e on November 26, 2020. But due to the cyclone “Nivar” in Tamil Nadu, the exam has been postponed. Also, for the same reason, the chemical sciences exam and mathematical sciences exam which was scheduled to be conducted on November 26, 2020, has been postponed in UT of Puducherry.
NTA conducts the UGC NET exams to recruit the eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Professors in various colleges and universities. The CSIR UGC NET 2020 exam is conducted twice a year, for five subjects including:
Candidates who qualify for the CSIR UGC NET 2020 exams are awarded the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the faculty of Science. This year, due to the impact of the pandemic COVID-19 situation, the CSIR UGC NET 2020 Exam will be conducted only once.

On November 24, 2020, the cyclone Nivar hit the coastal state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. Heavy rains and gusty winds have disrupted normal life of people across the entire state. Also, the airports and power facilities have been shut down due to the impact of the cyclone.
