MPTET 2021 Eligibility criteria

Candidates should match their Eligibility criteria with the Eligibility Criteria of MP TET exam are given below:

For Primary Teacher Level (1 TO 5):

Academic Qualification

Candidate needs to hold any of the following degrees for application in MP TET exam:

  • Candidate should need to complete D.EI.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) (or equivalent) from any recognized University.
  • The aspirant needs to pass 10+2 level examination with 50% marks from any recognized board (or equivalent).
  • Candidates who graduate with 50 per cent marks and qualified Bachelors of Education (B.Ed.) from the National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution, will be appointed as a teacher for classes 1 to 5. Candidates who appointed as a teacher need to complete a 6-month bridge course in primary education recognized by the National Council of Teacher Education in between two years of appointment for the post of primary teacher.
  • Candidates need to pass Higher Secondary or equivalent with 45 per cent marks at least and two years diploma in Elementary Pedagogy according to the National Council of Teacher Education (Recognition, Standards and Procedures) Exchange, 2002.
  • Candidates need to pass Higher Secondary or equivalent with 50 per cent marks at least and a four-year bachelor's degree (B.El.D.) in Elementary Education.
  • Candidates need to complete a two-year diploma in Shiksha Shastra (Special Education) along with Higher Secondary or equivalent with 50 per cent marks at least.
  • Candidates need to complete Graduation Degree and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education or equivalent for applying for this post.

Age Limit

  • The minimum age of the candidate for application should be 21 years on January 01, 2021.
  • Candidates must be in between 31 to 45 years of age (according to the submission date of the application form) for seat arrangement for the test.
  • The age limit for General category Male candidates is 40 and for females is 45. For reserve categories like Ex-serviceman category, SC/ST and PWD the upper age limit is 45 years.


Nationality of candidates must be an Indian Citizen.

Qualifying Criteria

Exam score for general category candidates must be 60% and for the reserved category, it would be 5O% for qualifying for MPTET 2021 Exam.

*MPTET 2021 cut off will be valid for only 2 years.

For Secondary Teacher Level (6 TO 8th):

Academic Qualification

Candidates must qualify B.Ed Degree along with 50% marks in graduation from a recognized institute.

Age Limit

Candidate must be between 18 to 35 years for the application of the above exam.


Nationality of candidates must be an Indian Citizen.

MPTET 2021 Application Fee

  • MP TET 2020 application fee only accepted through online mode.
  • The applicants can use their Debit/Credit/ card, NHIM/UPI app or Internet Banking for depositing the MP TET 2021 application fee for Primary School Teachers exam.
  • The MP TET 2021 category wise application fee is as follows –

Note: The candidates can correct MP TET 2021 application forms within the specified time period. 20 rupees will be charged for the first time and for every subsequent request for editing 40 rupees will be charged for the application form.

  • The MPTET 2021 will occur on two levels.
  • There will be multiple-choice questions in the papers.
  • There will be no negative marks for incorrect answers in MPTET 2021.
  • Paper I consist of primary level questions i.e. for classes I to V and Paper II consist upper primary level questions i.e. for classes VI to VIII.
  • All the questions contain I mark each.
  • The time given for the exam will be 2 Hours 30 Minutes
