IES ISS Educational Qualification 2026

IES ISS Educational Qualification 2026 requires candidates to possess the following degrees from a recognised university or institute:

IES ISS Age Limit 2026

IES ISS Age Limit require candidates to be between the ages of 21 and 30 years. Upper Age relaxations are, however, applicable for certain categories, which are as follows:

IES ISS Nationality Criteria 2026

UPSC IES ISS Nationality criteria include candidates with the following nationality:

  • Citizen of India
  • Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan ( Certificate of eligibility must be issued by the Government of India).
  • Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam) with the intention of permanent settlement in India ( Certificate of eligibility must be issued by the Government of India).

Note: General category candidates can attempt IES ISS exam up to 6 times, while OBC candidates are allowed 9 attempts. There is no restriction on the number of attempts for SC/ST candidates.

IES ISS Application Process 2026

IES ISS 2026 Application Process has begun on February 11, 2026. Candidates must apply online for IES ISS by following the steps given below:

Step 1: Visit the official UPSC website and complete the One Time Registration by entering your mobile number and email ID.

Step 2: After verifying the OTP, fill in personal details, ID proof, and other required information to generate your profile and obtain a Unique Registration Number.

Step 3: Log in again using the registered credentials and select IES ISS 2026 Application link from the examination dashboard.

IES ISS Viva Voce 2026

The Viva Voce (Personality Test) round is evaluated on a total of 200 marks. The final merit list will be on a total of 1200 marks, combining the scores of the written exam and interview round.

IES ISS Selection Process 2026

IES ISS Selection Process is divided the following stages:

  • Written Examination: IES ISS written exam is conducted offline and carries a total of 1000 marks. It consists of six papers covering subjects related to General English, General Studies, and core topics from Economics or Statistics, depending on the service.
  • Interview/ Viva Voce: Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for a 200-mark interview to assess their subject knowledge, analytical ability, and overall personality.
